“in a world full of temporary things, you are a perpetual feeling.” - sanober khan
(tw: blood, violence, institutionalization, pregnancy, homelessness)
Chan was eighteen when him and his high school sweetheart decided to mate. For years they had been hiding their courtship, knowing that his partner's family would never approve. Even though Chan was top of his class and touted many accolades, he didn't come from a wealthy, prominent family. He wasn't even a native to Soleluna and his family scrapped together every dime they had to send him to the private school because they knew it would give him the best opportunities to succeed. Not to mention they were both Alphas, with Chan being a Prime...
Now that they'd both come of age, they knew it was only a matter of time until his partner's parents began to seek out suitors and neither could bear with the thought of separation. It was in their desperation that they decided to take a big leap. They sought out the counsel of a doctor to discuss the ing process. There were doubts it would even be successful considering Chan's designation as a Prime, but they had to try. Much to their surprise, his body took well to the hormones and began to go through the changes after spending his partner's rut together. In fact, it went better than they ever could have anticipated because four weeks later, Chan began to have morning sickness and they discovered he was carrying their pup.
Both were actually quite excited about the prospect of building a family together, getting caught up in their naive dreams of the future and forgetting the reality of their vastly different worlds. Yet as Chan's hormones began to wrack his body, he found it harder to contend with the reality of his partner having to entertain dinners with prospective mates from other families. How long could they feasibly keep up the act? His emotional state put quite a strain on him and the baby and it was for both their health that they had to come clean. Chan was in the second trimester of his pregnancy when his partner's family found out and it went as horribly as they'd always feared. It "wasn't too late" to go back on it because they "weren't mated", they insisted. They offered Chan money to try to buy him off... To pay for the abortion. As if money could make whatever problems that threatened their perfect world disappear.
They never could have anticipated just how far they'd go.
One night, Chan awoke to the sound of the window breaking in the living room. His partner told him to stay back while he went to check and to call the police. Chan had barely had time to explain to the dispatcher what was going on before he heard the commotion. Fearing for his partner's safety, he ran out to help and found him fighting with the intruder. Perhaps it had been the intensity of the struggle or the sudden scent of his distress... But there was a shift within moments, his partner's eyes flashing red as he tore into their unwelcome guest. Blood splattered everywhere, was so palpable in the air that Chan thought he would choke on it, and then his partner rounded on him...
All he could think was to wrap his arms protectively around his stomach as the man he loved lunged at him. Pain blossomed through him as claws and teeth marred his flesh in spite of his pleas for his lover to come to his senses. It was out of the need to protect their unborn child that Chan resorted to using his voice when he'd never dared to before. The assault immediately stopped, but when he looked into his lover's eyes, they were not the ones he knew.
Chan was still in a state of shock when the police broke down the door to find him sitting amidst the blood bath and he was quickly ushered away to the hospital along with his partner. Yet while Chan's physical wounds were promptly tended to, the shambles that he found his life in was not easily mended. His partner had succumbed to the feral beast within, likely triggered out of a primal need to protect his family. He was whisked away to an institution for wolves that went feral in the hopes that they could get through to him, but no one could guarantee if he would ever come out of it. It was impossible for Chan not to blame himself as he watched him go, as his lover's family looked at him like he'd robbed them of their pride and joy and not like his heart was in irreparable pieces at his feet.

chapter two
“The brightness of the sun, will give me just enough to bury my love in the Moondust. I long to hear your voice, but still I make the choice to bury my love in the Moondust.” - Moondust (Jaymes Young)
When he was fully healed and sure the baby was fine, Chan attempted to visit his partner at the facility, but found that he wasn't allowed to. The man's family had forbidden him from having access or any information and Chan had no legal recourse since they weren't officially mated. It was hard enough contending with the fact that his lover might never be the same ever again, but not being able to see him at all threatened to tear him apart. The only thing that held him together through the day, through going home to their apartment with the unfinished nursery and their painfully barren bed, was thinking about the baby. Putting them first.
Still Chan called the hospital every day to inquire into his partner's well-being and hoping for a miracle. For some ing mercy that never came. For in his partner's absence, his family didn't hold back trying to erase Chan from their son's life. Except rather than kill him outright, they tried to whittle him down slowly and agonizingly. Chan didn't even know what to do when he was served papers to appear in court. He barely had money to pay rent, let alone for a lawyer. All he could do was hope that him and his partner's memory together, that the fact that he carried their child would appeal to the judge.
But of course that was foolish. Love, no matter how true or genuine, had nothing on money. Chan didn't have the capacity to hurt anymore as he stood there in the courtroom, listening to the family's attorney claiming that he'd ruined their son's life, that he'd entrapped him with his pregnancy, and manipulated him with his voice into staying with him. The judge served him a restraining order on top of ruling that he would have to pay for damages in the form of his partner's medical bills. And as if that wasn't enough, he had to move out of the apartment that his partner had leased for them, where they had intended to start their life together...
As a result of the harsh ruling, Chan lost everything. Well, nearly. He still had his baby and he was determined to give them everything even if he had nothing. Chan forced himself to move on. He found a small place and a new job, but there wasn't a day that went by that he didn't long for his partner, especially after their son came into the world. Gods, he looked so much like him and Chan could only pray every single day that his lover would come out of the fog of ferocity. That he'd come back to them and they could be a real family like they'd always wanted.
Their son was two years old when Chan's prayers were answered. His partner miraculously recovered... but he only found out when the man and his family came after him for legal custody of his child. With the prior rulings going against Chan and his meager income, it didn't take much for them to turn things in their favor. For the first time in two years, Chan was able to look into the eyes of the man he loved and begged him not to go through with it, but it was like he didn't even recognize him...

chapter three
“But even in his dissatisfaction he could not quiet the feeling that time was like a flash flood, so full, so brimming with things that must be done at once, but running out all the same, leaving an emptiness, a dry ditch in its wake.” - Bess Tefft
Robbed of everything, Chan became a shadow of his former self. He was consumed with the need to get his son back, but also destroy his partner's family. Not even just them, though. The entire ed up system that they led on the teat of. If anyone could be so heartless, they didn't deserve a shred of mercy. He changed his name and spent the following years honing his skills to systematically dismantle the Sol empire piece by piece.
Now Bang Chan is what he likes to call an "asset reallocation expert!" ... aka a thief. A dirty rotten swindler Robin Hooding his way around the Sol pack and robbing them of their riches.

relationship
ex-lover (tw: violence institutionalization, pregnancy).
basically, chan was in love with a member of the sol pack. they were high school sweethearts who were forced to hide their relationship because of the perception that this person's family would never approve. yet in spite of that, they continued to hide things and try to find happiness together. they went through the ing process and when chan became pregnant, they realized they couldn't live in hiding anymore. coming out to this person's family was even more disastrous than they thought. when they realized they couldn't easily separate the pair, they resorted to drastic measures. whether they intended to actually do chan harm or not, the person they hired broke into the apartment the lovers shared and resulted in chan's partner killing them in an outburst of ferocity. blinded by instinct and rage, his lover attacked chan as well and caused him to have to use his compelling voice to subdue him.
his partner never came around after that and was institutionalized for two years in a facility that specialized in the recovery of wolves who'd succumbed to ferocity. in that span of time, their family continued to make chan's life a nightmare. eventually, this person recovered, but they acquired amnesia that erased a good portion of their memories and that left them easily manipulated by their family, who turned him on chan. it's been three years since then and their child is now five. the family has done their damnedest to make sure their son's life is "back on track," even setting him up with a prospective mate who is fine with him having a son out of wedlock. it seems like everything is finally going according to their plan, but chan wont let things go so easily.
optional lovers to enemies back to lovers twist: obviously if his lover ever regained his memories, there is the chance for them to rekindle their relationship and give a big you to his family. I had this big cheesy idea where they both attend the Perigee Ball and Chan is able to see his son, then his former lover asks him to dance because he can't shake a strange sense of familiarity and when they remove their masks at the end it's like this big flood of emotion that BAM~ fixes everything! and they live happily ever after

you knew chan from school days and thought tthere was no couple more in love than him and his partner. so when you heard news through the grapevine of the breakup and the accusations cast upon chan, you found it difficult to believe. you were one of the few people who stuck by him through everything and one of the few he could confide in. you aren't aware of his current illegal activities because he keeps you in the dark to protect you, but you can see very clearly that something hasn't been right with him since he'd lost his family.
