the following information is not known to the general public, please be aware of this when looking to interact or rp with ehlark: as ehlark's parents were promised since birth to one another, their families did this for their pure blood qualities in the hopes of reintroducing an ancient vein of magic that had been lost over the years and generations of golds. their first child could only sense the ancient magic at first but as she grew older, even this much was lost to time, considered a failure, the parents swiftly had another child.
ehlark was pressured from a young age to show signs of the ability and he did, for a time pleasing his parents as an innocent child, except he soon realised how wrong and not... normal this ancient magic was, ostracising him from his own sister. after a time, ehlark learned to hide the power and insisted to his parents he too had lost the ability, so his parents had another, final child. like his first sister, she could sense the magic but could not wield it and also lost her ability to see it. though desperate and unable to have anymore children, the gold parents cracked down harder on their youngest child, causing tremendous pain and hardships for all the siblings
feeling helpless and guilty, ehlark couldn't take it anymore and snapped soon after, the power he'd been hiding bursting forth and causing a curse to form upon him as he used the power to his advantage, protecting his sisters and terrifying their parents. though much mystery surrounds the curse, over the years it has become more obvious as the once sunshine-like and radiant child turned colder, more aloof and brooding. more obvious signs of the curse were his long black locks turning stark white and shocking those who see such an unnatural sight for a young man. his relationship with his parents is tense and rigid at best, though he has remedied some of his feelings with his sisters, ehlark still feels very much alone and prefers to keep people at arm's length. it's just safer that way;
