❑ employment history
『 past : remembered 』
A normal childhood. That's what Lee Donghyuck remembers. Born to two loving parents and the oldest of four children he has memories of summer days spent at the beach together and home-cooked meals; setting off fireworks during New Years and proudly showing his report cards after school days.
Throughout high school Donghyuck was told he should study hard to get a good corporate job, that way he could make enough money to support himself and his future family. He doesn't think his parents meant to stress him with their well-wishes, but he felt immense pressure on his shoulders to do well academically, especially when he entered university.
He managed to graduate at the age of twenty two with a double major degree in international business and management. However, even with his outstanding credentials, like all newcomers to the workforce he had to start from the bottom of the corporate ladder.
Donghyuck was accepted to a job at one of the highest rated companies in South Korea, and for just over a year and a half he performed his duties to the best of his ability. Time and time again he was passed over for promotions and pay increases, and while he tried not to take it personally, it was disheartening to watch as his co-workers who did less work and had better connections continued to move up.
Eventually, Donghyuck questioned if working in an office under the thumb of lazy management was really the life he wanted to live; but before he could answer that question his existence was flipped on its head, and it would never be the same again.

『 past : FORGOTTEN 』
On July 21, 2019 Lee Donghyuck disappears. His family files a missing person report the following day, and police are dispatched to search for the vanished student.
There is no evidence of what happened to him or where he went. No evidence of him willfully disappearing or of foul play.
He is found unconscious in a riverbed at the edge of Seoul on September 15, 2019 after being gone for nearly two months. Donghyuck is rushed to the hospital and his family is notified of his status - but when they arrive at the hospital to see him they are pulled aside by a man in a uniform.
They are told to not discuss the time Donghyuck spent missing with Donghyuck himself. They are advised that they should just let him ease back into his schooling, so as not to cause him further mental trauma.
Donghyuck is dispatched from the hospital a week later and returns to his classes, and he is not told a thing about what happened to him.
In his memories he was never gone in the first place.

『 present : experienced 』
Just a few weeks prior to his annual performance review Donghyuck was attacked by his co-worker at his desk. She came at him with a hidden knife and a thirst for blood. He tried to talk to her, but when that didn't work he attempted to defend himself.
Donghyuck only intended to stop her attack and somehow make his escape; he didn't mean to kill her.
As if having blood on his hands wasn't already ed up enough, as soon as she was dead another co-worker came after him. It felt like the entirety of the staff at his office building were out to kill him, and Donghyuck barely managed to escape alive. He was beaten and bruised, and in shock, but he had no time to collect himself.
More people started to come after him. Random strangers on the bus, the old man who lived in the apartment next door; even the goddamn cat in the park felt like an enemy.
Donghyuck was forced to go on the run to try and save himself.
He doesn't know why this is happening to him or what these people want from him. So far he's only been able to learn that a secret organization is trying to get to him, and that they don't seem to care very much if he's taken dead or alive.

❑ marketable skills
『 what he is 』
Donghyuck is an enhanced human being. Think of it being similar to Captain America after he was given the super soldier serum. Donghyuck still has the same lifespan as any other human, but his status as enhanced makes him more durable than the average person.
However, Donghyuck is not aware of this fact. He knows that there's something different about him, but he doesn't know the specifics.
The reality is that during the almost two month long period when he had "disappeared" he had actually been kidnapped by the organization that is trying to find him now. They tampered with his DNA and his brain, turning him into a new kind of "super" human. They somehow "locked" his memories of these events before releasing him back into the public four years ago.

『 his purpose 』
He believes his purpose in life is to live well and take care of those he loves. Donghyuck is secretly a romantic at heart and loves the idea of growing old with someone, though he no longer believes that will be possible.
The purpose given to him by those who altered his body and mind is to act as a super spy on behalf of their organization. Who or what this organization is, as well as their purpose, is not currently known.

『 abilities he possesses 』
— Enhanced Strength
— Enhanced Senses
— - Sight
— - Taste
— - Smell
— - Hearing
— Physical Durability
— Hidden Knowledge
— - This is information that he is either unaware he has, or does not know where or when he learned it. The knowledge he has seems to be proficient use in all kinds of weaponry, how to disguise himself and hide from others, all the tricks to lockpick doors from simple keyholes to advanced biosecurity systems, and more. (Spy knowledge, essentially.)
— Annihilation Mode
— - A currently unknown "ability" of his that can only be activated by the organization that made him into an enhnanced human being. Through a particular code word or radio signal he loses all control of his mind and body, becoming a living, breathing weapon that will stop at nothing to end his target, or die trying.

『 his main diet 』
Like all humans Donghyuck consumes human food and drink. He has a preference for Korean cuisine and spicy dishes, and also has a taste for good alcohol. The one peculiarity of his diet is that he eats more than the average person in one sitting; he chalks it up to cravings, when the reality is that he needs to eat more than the typical amount due to his enhanced body and its rapid consumption of energy.

❑ scheduled work
¶ catatonic : hurt/comfort(?)
—— OPEN
You find Donghyuck awake but unresponsive out in the city. Definitely in a place where he isn't safe if he can't respond to anything. Somehow, you're able to coerce him to come with you as you try to help him, either by getting him to the hospital, the police, or taking him back to the place where you're staying. At some point his awareness starts to come back to him.
*Could lead to any number of paths: maybe he immediately thinks you're an enemy and tries to attack you, maybe you get him home and nurse him back to health. The two of you could become friends or strange acquaintances, or even something else.
¶ follow : suspense, potential action
—— OPEN (preferably human, but not needed)
The Multiverse is not exempt from crime, even if it is a very strange place. Donghyuck ends up as a hostage in a robbery along with you; he's already planning an escape and you end up going along with him. You're surprised - or maybe intrigued? - by how proficient Donghyuck is at picking locks, sneaking around, etc. but he isn't able to tell you how he knows those things. Not because he has to keep it secret, but because he genuinely has no idea himself.
*Could lead to any number of paths: the two of you escaping and being chased, both of you getting hurt (or one getting hurt and having to care for the other). Maybe the criminals holding you hostage are much more than just petty thieves and belong to a bigger group, which continues to come after you.

❑ behind the muse
『 part one : introduction 』
Hi! My name is Melo; you can call me by that or by my character(s) names. I live in GMT-5/EST and you'll mostly see me at random times throughout the day. I do work part-time (hoping to get a full-time job soon), so I'm not always available.
If you're interested in plotting or making a connection between our characters, please read the rest of this section!

『 part two : preferences 』
POV & Length: I only use 3rdPOV. My replies can vary in length from semi to para to novella. I do my best to mirror, but don't feel pressured to do the same as long as you give me something I can work with.
Note: Attempting to get back into using detailed 1stPOV, though 3rdPOV is still preferred.
Reply Speed: Just going to be upfront and say I'm a slow replier. Sometimes I can reply right away, but more often than not it might take me a day or two. If you prefer a faster pace I may not be the best writing partner.
Plotting & Winging: I prefer plotting since it gives me more confidence in my threads, but I am open to winging as well (and sometimes prefer it when my brain is being finicky). Sometimes I post random starters, so if they haven't been claimed by someone else feel free to respond!
Location: Rooms > Walls & Private Messages. I typically reserve private messages for OOC discussions, and rarely roleplay on walls unless I feel the need for our thread to be a little more hidden.

『 part three : boundaries 』
Please do not "poke" me for a response. I don't make a habit of forgetting replies, and it's more liekly that I'm busy or struggling with my muse. That being said, if it's been more than two (2) weeks you can reach out to me.
If you plan to include any rated M or potentially triggering content in our threads you must discuss it with me first. I don't appreciate being blindsided and I will make sure to speak with you about including any such topics as well.
Regarding and romance; I don't typically roleplay these genres outside of my friends or those I'm very comfortable with, but I'm trying to be a little more adventurous lately and branch out so let's just consider them on the table. (And I apologize in advance if my skills are rusty.)

If at any point you wish to change something in our thread or drop it altogether, please notify me! I will endeavor to do the same.
