personal lore: hailing from an earthen tribe to the east he lives within nature and all its beauty. however, his tribe is currently engaged in conflict with a neighboring group of water benders who seek to exploit the tribe's land, people and resources. as one of the most skilled earth benders in his tribe donghyuck is often at the front lines when the water benders decide to attack. he is ferocious in protecting his home and will continue to defend them till his last breath.

other important details:
1. while he is able to bend the earth as most emeralds typically do, he also has a special ability to pressurize rocks and other minerals until they become lava, his own version of earth bending and pseudo-fire bending. making contact with this lava can leave serious burns and set fire to flammable objects. he finds this ability especially important when battling water benders, since enough heat/lava helps to evaporate their attacks.
2. he was raised in a family of farmers and miners, so he's used to hard work and has the physical strength to show for it.
3. the earthen tribe he's from is situated near the eastern shore of the land, which unfortunately helps their water bending enemies draw power with the ocean so near.
