huh yunjin was born in new york, to immigrant korean parents. her mother is a retired and well known singer, now opting for teaching music and choir and her father is a lieutenant colonel in the army
due to her father's work, the family moved around quite a lot, and while her environment changed more often than not, the bond and love for each other and music never once did.
yunjin took on her mother's love for music and singing. she picked up her mom's old guitar at the age of four and by the time she was six years old she was playing like a pro!
when she turned 18, she decided to fly to her parents' homeland, wanting to also get in touch with her korean roots. she dreamed of being an idol, so she auditioned and trained for a year before her agency threw her in a survival program to debut in a girl group. there she experienced the true and toxic reality of becoming a kpop idol, so before the final line up was announced (in which she was included and placed second) she opted out. she could not betray her true self and allow a company to manufacture her image or her music.
albeit a bit disillusioned, she was not down for long. she packed up her bags and went on the road. her parents supported her dreams of becoming a true musician, one who would not sell her soul and dignity for a quick buck and most importantly one that would not compromise who she was, for that was not the daughter they had raised.
determined to follow through, yunjin kept traveling, bringing her music with her and stretching her wings and horizons so that one day she may soar high. her latest adventure have brought her to the little but growing village of avianis, where she hopes to bring joy and wonder via story telling and song.
