For most of Mingi's life, both of his parents were office workers. Thankfully, they had established careers before he was born as it gave them more say in not being away from their son and home life. They did their best to be as present and active in his life as well as with each other despite their work constantly calling for their attention. Before Mingi's father changed careers, he worked for San's father, having ended up in a very high-level position. This was how San and Mingi naturally became best friends. Having pretty much grown up together, he grew very attached to San and was very obviously heartbroken when he took off after high school. When he could and when he still can, he finds himself on trips to Japan to visit the other, hating being so far away from him but having made himself get used to it over the years.
Mingi's father had a history of sports training from having been a semi-professional athlete himself and having almost gotten into Olypmic training. He'd taken the route of salaryman for the sake of something more steady after marrying Mingi's mother and was thankful that he did once they found out their son was on the way. An old friend at Seoul Star Athletics, a private gym for semi-professional and professional athletes, had an opening and his father took up the opportunity almost immediately. In a few years, he went from assisting coach for individual players to coaching one of the top soccer teams, full of rising star athletes. Mingi has no problem helping his father out around the gym whenever he has the chance, even more so now that he's graduated. He makes a decent amount of money taking professional photos for the gym's athletes as well as assisting the coaches and trainers, namely his father, with various tasks around the gym. This is also how he got to meet Jongho, one of the players on his father's soccer team. Jongho is also team member Mingi easily and happily admits to being the closest to.
While Mingi's father went into sports, his mother became a designer. She's worked in a small handful of fashion houses over the years, working her way up to the top. She uses her expertise more as a design consultant for a number of brands thanks to the experience she has with the many areas in building a fashion brand from the ground up. She has a very small and somewhat exclusive brand of her own that's more of a source of passive income and a hobby to just experiment. Mingi has also taken pictures for many of his mother's clients and even her own line as well, giving him more chances to make some money of his own. Mingi is often seen wearing pieces of his mother's line, although many may not realize it. He mostly wears a lot of the jumpers, cardigans and jackets in her line, with her sometimes personalizing them for him just because. It's through his mother that he met Seonghwa as Seonghwa has modeled for some of his mother's clients and in turn worked for some photoshoots Mingi has done.

Mingi's got one of the biggest hearts around. He has a habit of being everyone's cheerleader, especially his closest friends. He dabbles in various forms of media for his art but photography has always had a special place in his heart since his seventh birthday when his parents gifted him his first camera. He hadn't realized then what photography would grow to mean to him but it shows how important it is in that he never throws out any of his cameras when he gets a new one. That includes the one from when he was seven. He has a showcase shelving system in his room with all of his cameras on display.

Although known to be a bit childish, he's serious when he needs to be. He looks out for others, whether or not they can look out for themselves. Admittedly, he does sometimes forget to take care of himself as he finds joy in putting others' first but he's thankful for his best friends and his parents who help balance that out for him. He's the type of person where the other person is the problem if they say they have an issue with him. He doesn't like to fight or argue and feels bad if someone around him feels bad, especially if he feels like he caused it.photography
