Dr. Vincent Vern knew two things the moment his fifth birthday came around: one, he craved the breathtaking serenity of the countryside and two, he's always had an affinity for animals. That's why despite growing up in Seattle metro, Vince snatched the opportunity to study abroad in France for his DVM degree. It's now been seventeen years since he's become a frenchman, and thirteen since becoming a doctor. Now comfortably tucked away in his humble hillside homestead, Vince's profession remains the same - a caterer to all animal-kind and an educator of all things animal - aka veterinarian and now professor at the local college.
Doc in his down time is an avid off-grid rancher, and is either researching new sustainability efforts or tending to the farm itself. From well maintenance to shearing his first sheep, old city-boy Vince has had to learn it all and has since become a master. However, Vince doesn't have much free time. You'll mostly find Doc in any one of his small-town clinic patient rooms, tending to the community pets or even out on personal properties helping to deliver babies or aiding horses in colic. The second place you'll find him is Doc's office at the university. The classes he teaches are few and far between compared to most professors, but he'll oversee staff as the head of the Animal Sciences department and coach future vet-med students within the confines of his own office. More often than not, he's an excellent guidance on internships or other hands on experiences and often has students intern at his clinic.

// CONNECTIONS + PLOTS

Plots:
Bron Y Aur Stomp - grief, angst, fluff - open to anyone who at least knows of Dr. Vern - [tw: animal death]
Usually cheery, you spot Doc grabbing coffee with a deep-set frown plastered across his usually sunshiney features. Vince admits that this morning, he had to euthanize the very first patient he ever saw as a young doctor thirteen years ago, and he's a complete wreck because of it. You offer to help tend to his homestead for the day when he really needs a shoulder to cry on.
New Pet Parent - fluff, small-towny
You come on down with your pet to the clinic to have their first vet visit. Doc sees a little socializing difficulty for your pet and offers to have playdates with his pets at the local park, or even his homestead.
Small-town Emergency - action, fluff, possible angst
You call doc down to your property due to an animal emergency.
New Hire - action, angst, fluff
Whether you're an intern or an employee, it's your first day and Doc's giving you a run through the clinic before an emergency call comes in. It's the day after a holiday and the rest of his staff wasn't scheduled, so you're tasked with aiding in this emergency.

Connections:
- You have a pet or pets you bring to the clinic often (0/+)

- You're an intern or employee at the clinic (0/4)
