born in south korea, yunjin's family quickly moved away and to the united states, where she grew up in new york city. it was a different experience for her, as it was harsher than the way her parents always talked about home in seoul, but yunjin loved it. she felt as though she could properly flourish there, surrounded by people with a variety of backgrounds. this is where she picked up her love of singing—she would often go with neighbours to family get togethers, as her parents were often out of the house working to provide for her, and they were a lively bunch who loved to sing. while most of the music was church music, as they were very religious, yunjin still decided she wanted to take part, taking vocal lessons when she could afford them. soon, she was scouted by a company in south korea, and she eagerly left america. however, it didn't work out the way she wanted, but there was a new opportunity for her in diamond soul factory, and yunjin readily jumped at the chance.

 

overall, yunjin has been training for about three years. she will not give up on her dream, because she wants so badly to be an idol if it means she has to hide parts of herself from the public that she never wanted to, but it would be worth it to get up on that stage and perform. she doesn't know if she wants to be in a band or in an idol group, but she's been working very hard on this dream for years, and she is not planning on giving up easily.
