Background:

Mackenyu was born into slavery and forced to work in the mines from a young age. He discovered his natural aptitude for swordsmanship while defending himself from other slaves. One day, a kind mage, who was travelling through the area, noticed Mackenyu's talent and took him under his wing, teaching him the art of sword fighting and began teaching him magic in secret. Mackenyu's skills grew exponentially, and he began to dream of a life beyond the mines. When the mage was discovered teaching Mackenyu, he was forced to flee, leaving Mackenyu behind. With newfound determination, Mackenyu began to plot his escape.He staged a daring escape, fighting his way out of the mines and into the nearby city. He sought out the mage who had first taught him, hoping to continue his training and fulfill his dreams of becoming a sword master. However, he stumbled upon a powerful group of slave traders, who had Mackenyu paraded as a fighter in underground arena and during the day he is forced to work at the trading post.

Forced into gladiatorial combat, he honed his sword skills and become a formidable warrior and hunter. One night he witnessed the cruel murder of his closest friend, a fellow slave and he ended up killing one of the slave masters.  He now wears a metal collar around his neck that is enchanted with the power to electricute him if he dares escape or disobey.  He continues to fight for survival in the arena but hoping he will soon find a place in this world and be free from slavery.
