background
born in seoul, south korea, chanmi's family moved to miami, florida when she was still a baby. she grew up there, enjoying the warm weather and learning how to dance from the others. she was scouted by an entertainment company to become a dancer and chanmi moved to south korea to follow her dreams.
while starting out her career as a backup dancer, chanmi joined the haus of glamour, a vogueing and waacking dance troupe within the city. she was training to join a girl group while also competing with her haus, and she became a big name within the dance community. her dream came when she debuted in a duo with park jihyo, and she decided that she wanted to carry over her dance name to her idol career, going by the name 'chungha'.
the duo, named 2mama, didn't last very long and the company put them on hiatus, and chanmi decided that she was going to leave. she was too old to debut in a group when diamond soul factory hired her, but she accepted becoming a vocal coach, continuing to choreograph songs that she was working on. eventually she was given the opportunity to debut as a soloist as well, and chanmi is very happy with where she's made it.
