faceclaim and occupation: chou tzuyu, twice
oc name: lin yuwen
position and department within the company: assistant to the editor-in-chief
background: two words defined every fiber within yuwen's being: work hard. born and raised in taiwan, she originally relocated to seoul for her first job: subway sandwich maker. yuwen excelled so exponentially that within two months, she was promoted to manager. and might have propelled all the way to operations if she didn't venture into ELLE as a styling intern in the fashion department.

how many years of experience do you have within the industry?
- industry is an expansive term but in this domain, i have five years. five years and two months to be more precise; i remember starting the day after my 20th birthday. it was vampire themed.
what was your reason for going into the fashion business?
- i think most people who are in this line of work have had a love for fashion ever since they were kids, but i started to think about fashion as a career choice during college. during my previous job, i would spend breaks playing fashion games - do you know dress to impress on roblox? the pressure cooker environment of that game gave me some of the best adrenaline rushes i've ever had, but i've never, not once, placed on the podium. those 37 losses crushed me, and i sort of saw the fashion business as my way to understand clothing more. and finally win dress to impress.
why work for ELLE, specifically, instead of other magazines?
- ELLE is a palindrome, which should speak for itself. that satisfaction is something other magazines can't offer. ELLE is timeless yet dynamic, and the company recognizes that hard work presents itself in different ways. more importantly, the company rewards hard work in different ways!
tell us a fun project you've done/would like to do while in the company?
- i've always wanted to do a little confession board within the company. 'but yuwen, doesn't that sound like a bad idea?' socrates was probably told he had bad ideas too. actually, employee superlatives would be really fun too. like 'most likely to sign their emails off with Sent from my iPhone' or 'most likely to spend 10 dollars on a coffee order.'
