As a small child, Seongha of course took the words of an adult as truth, forcing himself to work harder and harder until he quite literally was sick. His parents didn't seem to notice, as children could bounce back from exhaustion rather quickly-- at least until the bruises started appearing.
When training didn’t go as planned, the coach would resort to yelling, hurling cruel insults, and demeaning Seongha until he improved. As a young child, Seongha believed the coach’s harsh words, pushing himself to the point of illness. His parents, accustomed to children's resilience, didn’t notice the exhaustion or the bruises until it was too late. Seongha endured this for two years before the coach was reported for his behavior. The scars, both physical and emotional, remain with him.
