The Brooks family had been around for hundreds of years and had gained a number of businesses under them, from a real estate business to a series of hotels to a tech company, though in the past fifty years a time of strife had come upon them. Stefan Brooks had developed a gambling addiction and plunged his family into debt. His children had done what they could and sold many of their businesses to try to escape the debt, but even Stefan's death three years ago and the payout of his life insurance hadn't been enough. All they had left was one hotel, three properties and shares in the tech company they'd had to sell and now they were coming close to having to sell all of those and resign themselves to a life of shame.

As the eldest granddaughter of Stefan, Liliana had developed a sense of duty to her family from a young age, never wanting to dishonour her family. As a young teenage she'd stopped her dance lessons after her grandfather told her that dancing was inappropriate for a young lady. At the age of 18 she gave up her dreams of becoming a model after her own father told her that modelling was unbecoming. And then at the age of 21 her parents told her they'd found a way out of debt and had promised her hand to the heir of the Montague family. Liliana agreed to it though over six months she did what she could to try to get out of the deal without harming the Brooks families chance of climbing out of their debt before she reluctantly resigned herself to her fate.

While she has still not met the Montague heir yet, Lily has visited the mother of the Montague family at least twice a week for the past month.
 

Personality:
Lily isn't exactly certain who she really is anymore, other than a dutiful daughter. She's spent so long forcing herself to be what her parents want and expect of her that all the genuine sides of herself have been buried deep within herself to ensure she presents herself as an appropriate young lady.
She's certain that this isn't what she was supposed to be and often finds herself smirking at the sight of others involving themselves in mischief and she longs to join them but daren't disappoint her family.
