however, during his last year in middle school, his parents broke the news that they had to move to south korea for unknown reasons. it felt like a cold wave of distress washed over him. he would have to rebuild his friendships and all of his plans of becoming huge in the western media scene would have to be tossed out. also, he'd have to start learning korean.

finally settling in after the move, nicholas was transferred to a local seoul high school that was known for their fine arts programs. it was difficult befriending other students since he didn't speak korean well but he managed to find a second home in the school's music club. the club members welcomed the new transfer student with open arms and helped him overcome the language barrier. there he also found his new found family, his band mates. they called themselves, chrome genesis, a name thought up by their lead guitarist who had an unhealthy obsession with the fashion brand, chrome hearts. they started as an average, measly band that covered songs and uploaded them onto youtube then musical ideas started to get brainstormed and next thing you know, the group started to compose their own songs. they didn't become big overnight, they gained their popularity steadily through local venues and festivals as well as uploading their songs through spotify.
 

things started to ramp up for the band when an entertainment agency reached out to them with a deal that anybody would have difficulty denying. the deal was simple; it was to sign with them and they would make them the next big star. the band immediately signed the contracts since they didn't know any better as gullible teenage boys. also, the agency that spoke with them was not some miniature-scaled company. this was a decently well-known, reputable company that already housed popular idol groups. currently, the band officially debuted under the company a few months back and is now working on their second ep.
