Yes, feel free to edit this profile as you'd like or use another profile altogether! Using this profile is not required.
How do I edit my profile?
Click here for a detailed tutorial on how to edit your profile.
The section above is probably the hardest part to change in this layout, followed by changing the aesthetics. Please feel free to ask us in the FAQ room if you have any further questions on how to edit your profile! Baram created this layout with duct tape and elmer's glue, so it's far, far, far from perefct.
Do I have to fill out the whole thing?
Nope! Feel free to delete or add sections as you'd like. This is your profile, you're allowed to do whatever you want to it.

I'm too busy to be active.
That's fine! Take things at your own pace, don't bite more than you can chew. We're here to have fun! Activity shouldn't feel like a chore. Out of everything in your adult life, being active in a roleplay on a website you've been on since middle school (anecdotal example) is the last thing you need to worry about.
Do what you want and nothing more.
I need to go on hiatus.
Please update your profile to state somewhere that you're on a hiatus, whether it's on your wall, status, or profile layout, then post in the hiatus room how long your hiatus is going to be and how active you'll be on hiatus.
If you have absolutely no activity at all for over a month, us admins will put your character in hibernation.
I want to leave.
Please add Bada and Baram to a Group PM before you leave and let us know:
1) that you're leaving
2) if you intend to rejoin in the future
3) if you would like to close any of your businesses in the town, or continue to have them open with npcs (otherwise, they'll be closed IC).
Advice Corner with Baram
I don't remember how to write.
Trust Baram when he says he doesn't remember how to write either. That's okay!
Baram made this roleplay as a way to regain muse for the website and writing. Believe us when we say that a lot of rpers on the site are on the same boat as you if you feel as if you don't remember how to write. It's nothing to feel ashamed of and we're all here to support each other!
No one wants to write with me.
Are you sure about that? Before you come to that conclusion, be sure to work on your profile and connections, then take a look at open connections that others have open and see where your characters can connect.
You don't need to write together to connect and you don't need to connect to write together, but it helps to reach out to others in the roleplay and communicate the things you want to do.
Sometimes you just aren't compatible with people and that's okay! There are plenty of other people to reach out to. Don't feel like you need to make any major changes to your character or writing if you don't have the muse to do so.
I have no muse.
That's okay! There's no need to force yourself to do something you don't want to do, but we all fall into slumps sometimes.
Don't put too much pressure on yourself and feel free to linger around until something strikes your muse! Sometimes all it takes is one change for everything to click, sometimes it takes time to recover your muse.
It's not always something we can control and that's okay! If you need to leave and catch your breath, go ahead, we'll always be here to accept you back with open arms.
The chat goes by too fast and I feel left out. :(
It'll be like that sometimes, right! :( It's okay, baby, you don't always have to feel like you have to be super duper active to enjoy the roleplay!
If the chat is too fast, feel free to interact with people in dms instead, OR shoot your shot and wedge yourself into any conversations going on in the chatroom. People are more receptive than you'd think! Even if they aren't, we all don't always have time to divide our attention 8 different ways and that's okay, too!
If this becomes an issue, Baram will create breakout rooms for the chatrooms so people who want slower conversations can take a breather. However, since chatrooms aren't a key feature of the roleplay, this will probably be unlikely.
Naturally, with his mother in the fashion industry, Jongin was drawn to the arts as well. He wasn't studious in his studies otherwise, leaning more toward subjects where he could expression himself. He wrote a lot of poems and short stories as a teenager and even had an angsty longform story that eventually became his first project as a manhwa writer.
In college, Jongin majored in digital art with a minor in literature and found his career in his senior year when he and his current team created a manhwa based on a story he wrote in his teens. His first project lasted about four years and his second project is about at its four year mark as well, though currently on hiatus due to current events.
| Mom... Dad... COULD YOU AT LEAST WARN ME BEFORE
| YOU PUT ME IN THIS POSITION!?
But, how could they have known this would happen so early? Well, Jongin's father should have known with the occupational hazards he faced, but after thirty years, he found it hard to pop into Jongin's life to be like, "Hey, son! By the way, you wanna lead a gang?" No, he'd rather die before doing that... and he did! Good gracious, what did Jongin do to have such irresponsible parents?
This all was a lot to take on at once and, frankly, Jongin had prior engagements to handle back in Seoul, so he wasn't keen on accepting his role in this family business. He really wanted to reject it all and go back to his normal life as a manhwa writer and leave this all behind, but... he'd be lying to say he could just leave like that. He spent thirty years without knowing his father, only to meet him at his funeral. To say he didn't want to know more about his father would be a lie, and the driving motivation for him to stay in Haepung was finding out he had a younger half-sister, Minji, who was a convicted felon after murdering her ex. He couldn't just let her stay here in this town alone. Now that their father was gone, she was his responsibility... and he really did not want her to get in trouble again.
To call himself the head of the family right now would be premature. That was the title he inherited, but now Jongin is on a journey to understand what about Haepung is worth getting his hands dirty to protect.

Park Hyunju, age 50, mother: Hyunju is Jongin's mother. She's one hell of a MILF with a spunky, young attitude. She raised Jongin all by herself as she navigated through her career in fashion. She didn't tell Jongin much about his father while raising him because he never asked and she never felt the need to let him know that his dad was a er -- or, the head er. The reason why she didn't stay with Jongin's father? She's not the type to commit, especially to a dangerous guy like that. Alimony was good enough for her. Honestly, she meant to let the two meet someday, but time just went by so quickly and she didn't expect him to die so unexpectedly. He should have said something, honestly.
Kim Minji, age 20, half-sister: Jongin spent his entire life not knowing he had a half sister, but what surprised him most was that she was a convicted murderer... The family business alone was surprise enough, but now he feels responsible for this tiny little murderous baby. First order of business: get her a babysitter so she doesn't get herself in trouble... or worse, drag the family into trouble. Kim Minji, we get that you murdered your ex in self defense, but you don't have to do the dirty work yourself anymore!! We literally have paid goons to take out the trash!! Murder again and I'm having the lawyers put your inheritance on hold until your frontal lobe is fully developed.

Description
— hyunwoo arrives in haepung following the death of his father, who is the head of a gang in haepung. although the gang is relatively small, they've been an integral part of haepung's history from the very beginning and power passes down hyunwoo's family to the eldest son. the issue is hyunwoo never knew who his father was. he was raised by his single mother in seoul and never even had a second thought about getting to know his father and to be put in a position of power to a gang was honestly laughable to him. he's just a normal young adult living a normal life after all. however, his mother urges him to at least visit haepung and go to the funeral knowing just how important the town was to hyunwoo's father and wanting him to see the only gift his father would ever give him.
— once in haepung, hyunwoo is introduced to the family business as if it's just a normal corporation. and, honestly, it sort of is on the surface. their main priority is to keep haepung safe, just by any means necessary. it's nothing like hyunwoo imagined and actually seemed like a sensible place to have a career, you know, minus the federal crimes that are covered up with powerful figures in the community. here, hyunwoo finds out there are multiple factions working in haepung and not all of them get along. they especially don't get along with the yakuza, but reluctantly accept their resources that they don't have themselves. hyunwoo is advised to be cautious around them, especially since their heiress is rumored to have come to haepung for shelter.
