zhang hao is kinda an open book; he doesn't bother to hide when he's tired, whether it be of research labs or someone's nonsense. however, his most hidden secret is the fact that he was born with complete heterochromia. nobody except his partner and family from back home are aware of it, and he'd like to keep it that way. he covers it up by wearing colored contacts (dark brown natural designs). and while it is a pain to constantly insert and remove daily lenses every day, hao simply deals with it. he doesn't want to become targeted again, nor lose any of the connections he's made with people over the years he's spent trying to rebuild a safe space in a foreign country.

peculiarities

he's very particular about his study notes. if you ask to borrow some notes, you better return it in the state they were originally in--that is, perfect and in chronological order. and don't even think about trying to peel off the laminate. he may also be stingy in lending out his stationery supplies. his gel pens are precious and expensive, they can't be used by just anyone.
he also really, really hates hates pomegranates. even seeing an image of one will make him hiss. the reason being: he spent one summer vacation at his grandparents’ house in the countryside, and their neighbors always gave them pomegranates. his grandma made him sit at the dining table and peel the seeds of 2-3 pomegranates every monday. for the entire summer. and so. hatred.

desires

to get through his final year peacefully, and without losing his insanity in the process. also, to one day be able to wear prescription glasses without fear of being judged or treated cruelly because of his eyes. wearing contacts all the time can be tedious, especially on days where he doesn't wanna poke his eyeballs.

other information

currently, he lives in an apartment with hanbin that is within walking distance to the campus.
doesn't post often on social media, also got onto it at a later time than the rest of his peers so he doesn't have a huge digital footprint re: his formative years. when he does upload something, it's usually of photos taken a few months ago.

more info (mainly about his school life/personality) in bullet points cuz i can't write rn:

introvert who doesn't rly like to draw attention to himself but he still gets a lot of attention from people in his department anyway because:
1) he excels in his studies, overachiever much
2) known for his detailed, organized study notes that could help the ermm least intelligent person in the class receive a passing grade. a popular tale about him is how he once made a whole study exam guide for one class soph year that everyone was struggling in and only managed to pass bc of that doc he created
3) he's really cutieful!!
also might seem like a pushover since he usually gives in to helping his classmates but he's not actually... he just likes to be helpful, knowing how difficult studying... how difficult BIOCHEM... is
also did study abroad semester in his junior year at a jpn uni that's affiliated with haneul. so can speak mandarin, korean, and japanese
if he has to, he will put himself forward and like, ask questions in class, or ask for ppl (mostly girls) who are too shy to
sometimes organizes the study groups for biochem lectures for the underclassmen and joins in to tutor
