jihyo didn't have much say in her child acting career. into such an adult and hostile place at a young age made her grow thick skin. she wouldn't have minded it if she didn't have to always move around. jihyo longed to stay somewhere for more than a year and go to school like a normal kid, but her parents had a different idea.
starting off in sageuks, her charm piqued prominent figures in the industry's interest and she gradually transitioned to appearing in mostly thriller and horror projects. jihyo would be dubbed as korea's youngest scream queen. and one movie would go to change it all.
for authenticity, they used a known "haunted" building as the primary set and for months, they were plagued with freak accidents and mysterious events. jihyo did not get one night of good sleep for months. rumors began to circulate that the movie was cursed. on the way to the movie premiere, jihyo got into a near fatal car accident, resulting in her parents' divorce, jihyo's intense fear of the supernatural, and ultimately, the ending of her career at just 16 years old.
