ABOUT THE SOUL

✕ 26 | insufferable | heteroual ✕
she was never the apple of anyone's eye, truly. her mother was obsessed with the son that miyoung couldn't be, her father was obsessed with the family, and she was left to play with her own mind, and delve into the world of fiction. in her mind, everyone loved her, was always looking to her. her father would compliment the pianoforte playing, her mother would glance over the paintings she'd done, and she'd pretend that she didn't see the maids closing the doors when she was singing.
despite such a rude upbringing, miyoung was fond of herself, and fond of the idea of leaving this family. to debut and find another family more suited for her life? one that she could create? wouldn't anyone want that if they lived in the shadows of their home? this dear darling wouldn't know if someone outside of her family were using her kindness against her; and perhaps that was the very reason why her debut had been delayed for so long. finally, after her father had passed, months of turmoil and planning, and another delay of debuting, miyoung refused to leave her room. all that could be heard was the forlorn sounds of the pianoforte to a melancholy room. after weeks of this, the girl was finally taken from her room, her belongings packed, and was sent off to study abroad! for how long? however long it took to get her head out of the ground, and her heart back on the path of leaving this rigid family. when she returned, she would debut. there was no reason to keep her any longer, there was no benefit to her staying.
and so, her journey began. almost immediately, miyoung found that she would get terribly seasick, unable to stand being on the water for more than short bursts at a time. perhaps on a lake, but on the open sea, her months aboard the boat were spent with sweaty glistened cheeks and a bucket for her stomach's contents. the studies were much more productive than the ship's journey, and though she found herself writing home, she couldn't bring herself to send any of her idle days. delusion was what she lived in, but even she couldn't delude herself into believing that her family would read the letters she wrote. they stayed tucked away in her suitcase instead, tokens of her memories that would no doubt fade with time.
in a few short words? she's delicate, she's easily overwhelmed by larger crowds, she's quite the lovely dancer, but she has a penchant for violence, and is quick to anger. there is nothing demure about her temper, and her tantrums can last for months.

MY ATTITUDE TOWARDS LIFE
✕
good luck. was it luck that she was born into this family? not that it wasn't.. great. but it wasn't great. keep your head down, keep track of your likes, keeps your wits about you, and perhaps love will find you! but would it ever? miyoung's track record hadn't even started, and there were girls younger than her getting married. it wasn't fair, and she blamed her mama entirely. but, if she could smile and continue on, then all would be ok--right? that's what life is? grin and bare it? ... same old story.

genre/vibes: suspense/thrills, taboo
gender: male pref but fem is fine!
✕ surely, the cha family wasn't one to be sticking your nose into, but wasn't the unknown irresistible? you thought you knew of all in their immediate family, but who was the girl who was practically prancing around the yard? you'd only just gone to retrieve something that had slipped way past bounds. servants said that they believed that she was a daughter, but a daughter of whom? the late patriarch? the need to know was overbearing, and you were thinking of ways that you could get inside. how will you pursue?
✕ the 'fairest' maiden ✕
genre/vibes: girlhood/sisterhood, friendly vibes, finding ones self
gender: female!
✕ breathtaking is what you two thought of one another when yours eyes merely fell upon each other across the boudoir, both reading the fear and excitement on one another's face, both hinging on the feeling of needing to know who the other was. to have a friend in such a stressful time was something that any budding woman needed. get to know each other's likes, dislikes, what makes you tick—all whilst still trying to not drown in the sea of mama's, suitors, and other debutantes. life isn't fair, but you two could be fair to each other.
✕ watery depths ✕
genre/vibes: savior complex, friends(?), fear, indebted
gender: male pref
✕ the morning had been like any other, with prowling mamas, maids keeping their heads down yet somehow attending to their ladies every whim, and sauntering gentlemen, with or without a lady on their arm. on the bridge, there appeared to be a scuffle, a shout sounding through the park, chased by a sharp splash. the water further disturbed by something falling into the water reached your boat's hull, and that was when you realized that it wasn't something that had fallen in, it was someone. that was how you met, but would it be what defined your futures?
