"Survive." at age 5, baekhyun was pushed out onto the unforgiving streets of the nightless city. Powerless and possessionless, the runt barely survived, nearly starving to death before he got rescued. That was what she termed it, reminding him through constant abuse that he was a fortunate pup to have met her.
❝ Your eyes, how could i not recognise the despair in them? How pathetic. I knew you'd make a good puppet then.❞
She had been close to the position of the protector, only failing at the very end. He was a blank slate, easy to influence. He was her successor, a pawn for her to regain prestige. Through her harsh training, baekhyun learnt to coexist with his wolf, bó xián.
He couldn't do it. Despite being skilled at weaponry, baekhyun failed to show even the most minute power. "You were pathetic then, but you're plain useless now." At age 9, baekhyun was on the streets a second time, although by his own accord. She was a raging crippled determined to destroy her failed experiment. He had increased agility and stamina. Bó xián wanted to survive. So did baekhyun. That night, their first blood spilled. They didn't get away unscathed; battered and bleeding, baekhyun lost his right eye. Dragging his feet, baekhyun barely made it to a healer's residence before collapsing onto the doorsteps.
It wasn't an act performed out of the kindness of the healer's heart. The stranger probed inside him, treating him as a wonderwolf, one who had no powers. Baekhyun tried day and night copying the other's movements in an attempt to emulate the healing ability. Failures persisted. In a rage, bó xián tore off the healer's arm before baekhyun regained control. Staring at the fallen body, one thing was clear: he and bó xián had only each other to trust and rely on.

Getting away scot-free was easy when one was a puny, powerless halfblood, let alone an underaged omega. It wasn't until nie beom figured out baekhyun's tactics that the latter almost lost his life. The former wise one of the nie pack offered baekhyun a choice: work for the pack under beom's tutelage or be executed.

baekhyun calm and unperturbed except when it comes to messes. stoic and self-assured. Aloof and rude. keeps to himself but doesn't mind listening to the hottest gossip in the academy every now and then. frequently hums under his breath when cleaning.
likes tea with no sugar. favourite: black tea. snow. cleaning. training. singing. harsh winds on a hot day. sunlight in the blistering cold.
dislikes laziness except when it hinders bó xián from jumping into needless fights. dirt. tangible messes, particularly those from food. sweltering heat. brussel sprouts. thunder and lightning. Wens. Open flames.
bó xián temperamental and arrogant but lazy. fight first; talk later. However, to even engage him, there has to be either incentive or pressure. loyal. quick-witted and great fighter -- baekhyun relies heavily on bó xián when in combat.
biokinesis has a wide range of applications, offensive to defensive to regeneration. baekhyun is able to heal and limitedly manipulate his body (body construct and body hardening). however, his healing power stops at regeneration. he is thus unable to recreate his lost eye. baekhyun's power applies only to himself.
// appearance
baekhyun wears an eyepatch over his right eye. Faint discoloured patches running from the back of his left shoulder to his left back and on the whole of his left upper arm. His left side from shoulder to arm has nerve damage, resulting in partial numbness. Dresses simply and practically. Tugs around a bucket of water and a mop.

bó xián slender and small, the wolf makes up for size in agility. russet fur with a fiery red crescent on his upper back. red patch of fur surrounding the tip of ears and paws.
