jongee grew up in a humble family, living with his parents and grandmother. he was especially close to the women in the household. housekeeping routines and chores were taught to him by his mother, prompting him to help around the house since a young age. his mother was a social worker who participated in volunteer events on her free time. jongee would join his mother during these events, building his empathy and instincts to help the needy. 

jongee’s relationship with his father wasn’t bad either. though he was busier with work, he would do his best to spend time with his son and support him in his endeavours. his father was the man that introduced him to photography. since then, jongee developed a habit of photographing moments in his life. he had also taken to taking pictures of the lives around him, whether for memory or to raise awareness. 

jongee studied to become a surgeon, graduating when he was 23 and starting his residency a year later. he met many patients, all from different walks of life. there was one particular patient—a 13-year-old girl. she had a tumour and was expected to have it removed. jongee cared for the girl during her hospitalisation, and from there he learned about the girl group pandora. 

the girl was a big fan of pandora. however, being surrounded by worried parents, fussy doctors and friends who barely visited, jongee became the only person the girl could share about her love for the girl group. jongee did his job, but he also ensured that the patient was happy, and if it meant listening to her ramble about her fixation then he would sit through the whole five hours of it. 

the girl eventually underwent her surgery and came out safe and healthy. as thanks, she gave one of her merchandises to jongee. though he tried to decline, the girl insisted, saying that she would be happy to meet her caregiver and only friend in the hospital some day again at a pandora concert. finally, jongee accepted the merchandise, and that’s how he got deeper into the rabbit hole that was the girl group.
