Arae had big dreams of one day becoming one of the Queen's ladies-in-waiting. In the years leading up to her official coming of age, she knew nothing other than what she had to do in order to reach that goal. With her persistent efforts and her father's prolific connections, she was almost there.
On the night before her twenty-first birthday, her father's men cordially escorted her out of her chambers, her belongings perfectly packed and her farewells in order. She would finally get the chance to fulfill her dream of living in the palace alongside the Queen — but sorely, she was mistaken.

Despite her dainty figure, Arae has quite the stamina—something she acquired from her years of walking and learning how to properly attend to a Queen's every request and demand at every waking hour. Her footsteps grace the palace grounds without a sound whenever she's sneaking off to collect new (borrowed) books from the palace libraries.
Arae has a resting Nyeon face and finds it hard to smile after what was done to her by her father. Only at birds, at children, and out in nature will she ever share genuine smiles with. While she often carries a melancholic aura with her, she can be quite generous and forgiving.
LIKES : bitter hojicha, books, petrichor (the smell of the earth after the rain), meadows, the cool shade under a tree during the sweltering summer, the quiet babbling of a brook undisturbed by civilization, simple but hearty meals, long and thoughtful walks.
