He was born in the countryside of France and raised by his strict mother. As a child, he loved anything and everything about space to the point in where he wanted to be an astronaut for NASA. It was so much so that he would spend summers in the States for space camps. His mother didn't care for her son. It was obvious to him that she didn't love him nor wanted him as she often told him that he was unwanted in the home. She couldn't wait for the day so she could kick him out. He was already planning on leaving her without a word.
Him and his mother never got along when they were together and often, he spent nights and a lot of mornings with no food to eat. She rarely bought enough food for the two of them and Mathéo didn't have the courage to ask the neighbors for food. The scared little boy he was, he soon found solace in music. It helped him a lot and he then wanted to become an idol instead of an astronaut like he wanted to initially do after watching several videos online.
This new interest led him to run away at the young age fourteen. He told the police a little white lie that he was leaving the country to live with a family member and that his mother gave him the okay to leave the country. He even had a little note that he showed the police when they asked for proof.
