Emily Cunrow was too young to marry. She had so much she wanted to achieve in life before settling down but her father forced her to marry Geoffrey Galitzine. Threatened to be writen off the will; Emily begrudgingly complied.

They had a child named, Nicholas. Emily wanted an heir so he could continue the family's distillery business and wealth. Nicholas was very closed to his father. His mother on the other hand, was neglectful. Emily despised Geoffrey and she made sure that Nicholas understand the situation. They slept in separate rooms and was never seen together outside. The only time Nicholas got to see his parents together was at  his grandparents' places.

Geoffrey passed away from prostate cancer when Nicholas was 29. Emily never shed a tear and stepped away once the coffin was lowered into the ground. When Nicholas fell into depression, his mother only gave him a pat on the head and told him to see her therapist friend before leaving to some random man.

Nicholas despised his mother even more when she opposed his marriage to a human slave girl, sending her back crying. Emily was aware of their 5 years relationship and paid no mind to it, thinking that they were only dating.

"I will ing kill myself!"

"Oh you don't have the ing balls you bloody bastard!"

She was right and Nicholas hated how she knew him too well despite being neglectful.

The slave girl had disappeared the next day, leaving Nicholas with a letter that wrote: 'forgive me'. He knew it was his mother's doing but he was too emotionally exhausted to confront her.

Unable to be with the girl he loved, Nicholas decided to explore the world of same pleasure to spite his mother.  He started off with a help from a gay friend in which, Nicholas asked for a kiss, wanting to start off slow. Later, he was introduced to a man whom offered to 'prepare' him. The man was gentle and patience.

It took a month for Nicholas to be fully prepared and ready to allow the man to take him. Then, he procedeed to seduce his mother's boyfriends.

When Emily found out that Nicholas had been ing with the men she brought home, she was furious. It was before Emily's return. Everyone was asleep except for Nicholas. The butler had led the man inside and instructing him to wait in the living room. Nicholas took the chance, seduced the man and was on his knees gagging when Emily walked in on them. The man was banned from returning and as for Nicholas, he got an earful and a slap across the face.

"Are you a now, Nicholas?!"

"You can't blame me. Like mother, like son you know?"

Another slap landed on his cheek. Emily was fuming,"I want a grandchild - a legitimate one. You think a girl wants to marry a man who s around with other men?!"

"You chased her away!"

"Move on for sake! There are other girls far more better than that slave!"

It was the first time Emily ever got physical. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt as much as her emotional and mental abuse. For Nicholas, his mother never loved him. He existed just so he could continue the family's legacy. She never cared and it broke him. On the other hand, Emily loved her son albeit never displayed it. She loved him in her own way. Even nicknamed him bluebell, her favorite flower.

"My sweet bluebell, I love you. I'm not a good mother, everyone knows that. But you turned out great. Your nanny raised you well. You know, she always ask about you. That sweet woman. Such a wonderful mother figure isn't she?"

"Nina was 14. She was no mother."

"She raised you well and that makes her a good mother figure."

" me."

Emily could have tried to mend her relationship with Nicholas after her husband's passing. However she chose not to. She deemed it too late since Nicholas despised her with a passion. Even if she wanted to, she just simply couldn't as she was used to her ways.

Cunrow's Distillery

A family owned business used as a front for illegal trades - weapons, drugs, ions to name a few. Nicholas was unaware of this and Emily made sure it stayed that way, not wanting her son to get involved in the Cunrow's dark side.

But how long could she keep it a secret?
