taeyong's parents had been kind and hospitable hybrids. before his birth, they were involved in helping hybrid victims and survivors—those who were targetted by the royal family and made to participate in their twisted rituals. they started off small, providing food and aid to the homeless and injured. slowly, it built into a rescue centre at the edge of ataraxia, where the regular citizen wouldn't venture. it was there where taeyong was born and raised. 

as a snow leopard, taeyong was born with snow white hair. with the help of natural herbs, his mother taught him to dye his hair. being brought up in that environment, taeyong developed a natural sense of duty and protectiveness. he helped wherever he could at his young age and would play with the children at the centre. life under that roof was peaceful, away from the horrors of the main town.

that was, until the horrors came knocking at their doorstep.

taeyong was only ten when the royal guards came barging through the front door. mayhem erupted as hybrids were dragged away or slaughtered. with a few hybrid children in tow, his father sent him off to safety. in the end, his parents stayed behind to keep the royal guards at bay.

a paradise of over fifty inhabitants, wiped out in one night. blood was spilled, heads were rolled. above all else, many were taken captive for the royal family's ritual. 

taeyong followed in his parents' footsteps. however, instead of being passive and silently bringing in the survivors, he took on an active role. every new piece of information regarding the royal family's plan? taeyong would know, and he would be there to stop them.

for the sake of a safer environment for the hybrids, he did not care if he had to put his life on the line.

• during expeditions, taeyong dons a full-body outfit to hide his identity. the mask is carved with an owl face and attached to a balaclava. for his clothes, he wears a loose long-sleeved shirt which he tucks into a pair of long skinny pants. he wears a pair of boots and gloves to complete the outfit.
