: In comparison to the gossip, Diya hails from India not Great Britain, and she's not a blue blood of any sort either, it's all what her father prefers her to be. diya is her father's daughter, the daughter of a council member in the era where the british raj is in full control. it was not until he was deemed suitable enough to be a political advisor whenever the king visited India. Suprisingly, they took a liking to each other, so much so the king bestowed the name "george" as their last name and appointed her father in one of the offices in London, the House of Lords. The new name ridded them family of generations held name "karim" and the new title made them move to southern london, to live the "proper" life. Diya was only 12 when she moved to London and she highly disliked their new country, to her, her father was a traitor trying to make them live a life they did not know. It was always explained to diya by her mother that this is the sacrafice to a good life away from the unstable government back home, and Diya knew that side of it, but why did her father have to go off chasing more than just that? Since then diya's father was fixated on climbing the social ladder to the highest title he can get, all while forcing his family in with him on the ride.
