  • very noble in the way she speaks and carries herself

BACKGROUND: subject to change.

Part One
Surya’s existence came to be from a mere fragment of the sun. As the first fragment, Surya was destined for greatness—or so it was believed. She was raised with the expectation that she would become the heir and future Empress of the Sun, a position that demanded leadership, strength, and an ability to command respect from both mortals and divine beings alike. Thus, she was bestowed upon the title of Sun Crow, symbolizing the one who draws the Sun out from the clouds—a beacon of hope and guidance. Needless to say, the expectations placed upon Surya were immense.

Although Surya was conferred upon such privilege and expectations, this did not guarantee her the crown. Surya was merely the first fragment born from the sun, one of several. The rest of the fragments were equally ambitious and determined to inherit the ultimate title. Even though the rest of the fragments were essentially her siblings, they did not treat each other as such. Instead, they constantly fought against one another for the same title. Despite this, Surya never stopped longing for a genuine connection with her siblings.

Part Two
The sun’s powers were both a gift and a curse. From a young age, she was taught to harness the sun’s destructive energy in order to fulfill her duty to protect and lead. However, Surya struggled to control the sun’s inherently volatile nature. Each failure only worsened the pressure, and her self-doubt festered in proportion. The constant competition with her siblings only made her feel isolated since there was no one for her to turn to. She knew that any display of vulnerability could be used against her. Thus, she suppressed all of her emotions, powers, responsibilities, and family’s expectations within her. It was only a matter of time before the destruction she once believed she could control would escape her grasp.

Part Three
Surya’s most tragic moment came during one of her ascension tests on Earth. Her powers, unchecked due to the rage of emotions she could no longer temper, unleashed a calamity of an unprecedented scale (potential plot/connection???: sun sib who was surya's tipping point, leading to her meltdown). What was supposed to be a means for protection ended up becoming the harbinger of destruction. Cities crumbled, forests burned, and thousands died. The once-celebrated Sun Crow, the so-called beacon of hope and guidance, quickly became a symbol of destruction and fear. Overcome with guilt and shame, Surya withdrew from the world’s watchful eyes, and ran away from her family and the title she was believed to inherit. For years, she aimlessly wandered. However, the time spent did not bring her the resolution and redemption she sought, neither did it replace her memories.

Part Four
As a result of the calamity, the world had grown fearful of her kind. Despite this, Surya never stopped caring for the people. Within her remains a desire to atone for the things she could not undo. Although the memory of the calamity and her mistakes continue to cling onto her like a shadow, its weight serves as both her burden and guide. Along with this, the pressure to succeed the title undeniably continues to linger, but she no longer seeks to meet those expectations, instead seeking to carve a path where she can help bring peace to the world she once inadvertently brought to ruin.
