Born as the only daughter to a wealthy couple in Shanghai, zhenni grew up without any worries in the world. Although money, looks and her parent's reputation (both being heavily involved in the media production and distribution industry) alone were enough to guarantee her a large circle of friends, it was the young girl's bright smile and adventurous nature that made people flock around her.
Although encouraging their daughter to try out many different activities from sports, to music, science and even debating, it were the fine arts and Literature that fascinated her the most. If not drawing at the kitchen table, zhenni could more often than not be found with her nose buried in a book, deeply immersed into fantasy worlds.

Soon enough, zhenni would start creating her own fantastical worlds of princesses and dragons, mystical beasts coexisting in the human world. It were just short stories at first, but they would gradually grow in length and depth as more and more little details were added. But having her stories written out in words wasn't enough. Having a clear picture of the characters, the fairytale worlds, she would add illustrations to them. And thus her dream of becoming a manhua artist was born.
Starting small, zhenni would publish fanart and 4-strip comics of other famous series first, slowly making a name for herself in the fanart circle of a certain online game. As more and more people started to follow her social media accounts, she started to branch out into different fandoms before finally, at 18 years old, publishing her own first original work, a simple oneshot, after winning an online contest.
Now at 24 years old, zhenni is signed to one of the biggest webtoon publishing agencies in South Korea under the penname Sunni, several of her works having become big hits within the dark fantasy webtoon community.
