siyeon was born in beijing because her parents worked as martial arts specialists for movies and television shows, and as such, she grew up in that environment and became a martial arts specialist of her own. she originally wanted to be a stunt double for movies, but then she got into an accident on a movie set and decided that she needed something more substantial. when she moved back to south korea, she decided that she could apply for a bodyguard position and do well.
