Lee Donghae was a cheerful young man when he was still alive. A gentleman and a ladies man, though he rarely dated. As healthy and intelligent as he was, he was unfortunate to get caught up in a train wreck which ended his life at the age of 21. He was on his way home after studying abroad for a few years overseas, but the train had ran off track and no survivors were found on the train. From that day on, he became a wandering spirit, a lost soul that ended up in the city of Shamrock. He roamed the city unnoticed by others, but yet, an old doll maker saw him and welcomed him into his workshop. There, he was offered a chance to live his life again, but as a doll. Of course, it was a tempting offer, but he didn't take it. Until that faithful moment when the door opened to a man in his 50's walking in with a lonely aura around him. The doll maker had known the man personally and coincidantally the man's son had died from an epidemic case that was spreading around England at the time. The kindhearted Donghae didn't have the heart to see the man in such despair as he wondered what his own family must be going through. That was when he sealed his fate. He became the second elemental doll the doll maker had made. Given a body of a doll that looked around the same age as he was, the doll maker gave him a warm appreciative smile when the middle-aged man gleamed with a happy smile as they left the shop. Since then, Donghae had lived with the man and his wife as their son and they treated him as their own. In return, he loved the couple as his own parents and cried when his 'mom' passed away from old age. He was glad to be there to comfort his 'father', yet Donghae knew that the time with the said man was coming to an end. After the death of the old man he called father and attending the funeral, slowly, his body fell into a deep sleep in a coffin in the basement of the house along with his key that was tucked safely around his neck.
 
A few years later, a new family moved into the mansion where his old master lived and the maids and butlers were in charge of cleaning everything, including the basement. That was how they came upon his body. At first, the people had no clue what he was and how to activate him. Thinking he was defective or broken, they put his body and coffin outside of the doll workshop, wrapped up with duck tape and no one dared to go near it and the current owner of the doll workshop was still out of town for a few more days. Donghae was trapped inside, though his conscious was asleep he could hear different voices talking, but none had drawn his interest to wake again.
