Truthfully, he doesn't know that he was once very bitter and rude. He locked negative thoughts deep down, being happy is better than y. He doesn't know why he'd been moving from his grandma's to his mom's house back and forth since he was five. He forced those memories and doubts deep down, he'd sleep away the pain and numbness. Therefore, he's happy and cheerful for real. He doesn't know what is to fake and is how to lie. There's no mask, he's happy now. and it's better this way.
