The power of sound and illusion

Always a loud one, Jonghyun discovered his abilitity to use noise to his advantage as a young child. He excelled in every musical composition he touched, mastering harmonies and five instruments before his friends' baby teeth had even completely fallen out.

He was marvelled as a genius. The next Beethoven. Dumb concerning textbook work but the best at melodies of every kind.

Until they found out.

Rocks thrown at him, angry mobs demanding he never touched another sheet of music again; a reject mutant making their children feel like failures. His parents soon conceded and stripped Jonghyun of any access to music or... sound. His ipod, his instruments, everything. They gave him implanted hearing aids in his head and forced him to learn sign language so he would never hear another thing again.

Instead of shrivelling up and dying of self pity, Jonghyun grew angry. He soon discovered as a preteen he could cause sound without hearing it. Wails beyond normal octaves destroyed the eardrums of those who had hurt him, confused everyone in the city. Hurt and distraught, Jonghyun ran away at 15 with what little money he had scrounged up from winning vocal competitions earlier life and had the implants removed, hearing the music of life for the first time in six years.

Now he's discovered a new power, not sure exactly what it is, and hopes this new place he's discovered will help him tame that one as well.

He just wants to hear.
