❝My Story❞

 

Jinri is the daughter of the Choi Financial Group whose prominence, opulence is on the par with the F4, also the infamous conglomerate that absorbs smaller companies to 'grow'. The Chois are known to have connections in both the politics and underground, making almost no one dare to oppose them. Fortunately or not, she is the third in line heiress.

She is extremely cold-hearted and standoffish to people whom she does not know or people who approaches her. Her personality is valid because for most, their aims was to just leech off her family name. Jinri knows no mercy when she finds out someone had lied or betrayed her depending on the degree. Like her parents, she has the charisma to make people nervous around her and tell her everything naturally. She is not exactly a cynical person but she has been trained and shaped in such a way that before anything, she would consider if something brings benefits first. Even her playmates were handpicked for her in terms of monetary values & status, children of leading businessmen, affluent politicians. Being realistic is something instilled into her from young.

The definition of profiteer? The Chois. The family consists of her parents, her older sister, older brother and herself. Her father and mother, as absurd as it sounds, married not out of love but only to combine their businesses together for it to prosper. That's right, they are greedy beyond words. Old man Choi is a power-thirsty and is intimidating to the point that he is able to break the strongest of minds whereas old lady Choi is no better, she is an evil hag who preferred boys over girls and hired alot of young men to serve her, sometimes even targeting her own children's friends. They look down on people whom they think are less than them and treats them like a speck of dust. The three children stuck close together once but drifted apart when the two older siblings were 'brainwashed' by them to abandon Jinri. Why? Simple, she doesn't match up to them. She is always forgotten in the shadow because she is in everyway, less than them and 'nothing but a horrible stain'. She is less intelligent than them although she can ace her exams quite effortlessly without studying. Whatever she was good at, they were better than her. The only advantage of that was she's allowed to do whatever she wants as long as it doesn't tarnish the reputation of the Chois for she is never shown to the public officially- they were ashamed of her. Eventually she would be married off to someone rich enough to help them amass more wealth.

One of her unique characteristics is she will only allow herself to get bullied once, only once no more no less. She strives to gain her family's recognition until she realised that it's futile. At the age of 7, when she was again slapped and battered for only clinching second in a competition while her older siblings gotten first before, she was thrown out and she begged to be let in. Once the door closed, she headed straight to the police station to report. Not as being abused but merely lost, this greatly embarrassed them and they never did try it again.  

Despite always being with the F4, the members of Lovely Lilies could not do anything to her, for they knew that she is no easy target and the aftermaths would be tragic- scorned by F4 but most importantly, their family business would be singled out and 'terrorised'/bought out by her. Her doesn't refer to the Choi Financial Group but rather by Jinri's own company that she is solely in charge of. Upon entering high school, her parents tasked her with one of their insane missions, she is to manage one of their subsidary company and by the end of graduation, the profits must be tripled. This is something that her siblings had accomplished flawlessly and they gained recognisation from everyone in the whole industry. She is no fool when it comes to such things, she is witty and sharp almost like a shrewd in the business world. Once she took over, she did a massive restructuring and the company's gains doubled in the first year and is still safely improving as the days go by.

Choi Jinri has another identity that she has kept well-hidden from everyone, that is the model Sulli whose is still a mystery in the industry. The only ones aware of her double identity are the F4 who are also her childhood friends- the only people that she will show her warm side to and willing to let her guard down around. She used to be much more expressionless, drained of energy and truly sick of living but the four made a change in her life, for the better. Their presence is a relief to Jinri and she is secretly truly thankful for their existence. They are comfortable with one another and often bicker like real siblings, with them around she can smile sincerely from the bottom of her heart. Their similar family situations made them comrades within their circle. She truly cares for them although she might not show it all the time. Even though sometimes it's their own family matters, she will intervene if she thinks it's necessary after considering the consequences because she would never do anything to put them in harm's way.

Jang Wooyoung

Leader of F4, also Jinri's fiance, as much as they opposed to the idea. Somehow or rather, they miraculously managed to persuade both family to leave it as engagement for the time being. In the front of their parents,  they would have to of course, act like they are a pair and so far, it's a success. Even though they might look like a real couple sometimes, it is only a facade- they really are just good friends.  

Whenever Wooyoung says things without even thinking or she finds his words atrocious, she would whack his head with whatever she had in her hands- be it paper, pencil or even a plastic hammer. They never had any major argument mostly because she knows how to dance around his volatile temper without going overboard.

 

Luhan

In F4, the one whom she adores the most is Luhan. He was the one who had discovered her potential and encouraged her to pursue her passion by adopting a pseudonym. Whenever he required models, Jinri would be the first to volunteer. They have pretty similar interests such as singing which makes them closer. She likes to stick to Luhan only if he is around because she knows that when he isn't, he would like to be alone.

Jinri is also used to his disappearing acts although she does worry in secret when she doesn't see him for more than three days. Usually, she gets really hyped up when she spots him somewhere and drags him to the lounge without much care. Essentially, he is like a real older brother to her. 

 

 

Won Jongjin

He is probably the most tolerant and mature in F4 because ever since she had known him from day one, she had given him plenty of weird nicknames like Jongjinnie, Jinjin. Whenever she needed help, the first one she sought help from would always be him. Although he would quite a while about it, he had never failed to help her even when his own interests is at stake. Perhaps it is because of their similar background, they had always confided in each other about things that goes on in their 'home' particularly, the fear of the consequences they have to bear after they had failed their parents' expectations.     

Jinri is well-aware of his family situations and often felt indignant but still held back- the more the things blow out of proportions, the more beatings he would have to suffer. It breaks her heart everytime when she notices the fresh bruises and marks on him and how she is unable to do anything to resolve it. Instead of frowning, she would try to make things better for him such as showing him the funny pictures of the others that she had edited and playing the piano pieces that he likes for him.

 

Kim Jongdae 'Chen'

The opposite pair who bickers at almost every little thing since young, their views on matters differs alot but they have a good understanding of each other. Chen used to have a crush on Jinri- what he doesn't know is that her engagement is against her will. which resulted in him becoming a playboy.

Whenever Jinri sees him flirting with girls openly, she would roll her eyes and drag him away by his ear to the F4 lounge to reprimand him, it's not like it would help but she would see the guilt in his orbs like a child caught doing something shameful and forgive him, only to have everything repeat again. Sometimes, she would just scoffed at his compliments because she thinks that he is so used to flirting that the praises for her were equally insincere.

At times, she would wonder where did the protective Chen that she had known from childhood had gone. Thankfully, one thing that hadn't change is that they still played pranks on the others like adding salt to their coffees and recording it down as a light-hearted joke.
