Hwayoung's mother was simply a drug addict who would do anything for drugs. Before she knew it she was selling herself to different men just for money to get some, and then she ended up pregnant with Hwayoung and her twin sister. When Hwayoung was only 10, she sold her own daughter to somebody, being the desperate person her mother was. This became frequent until Hwayoung couldn't deal with it. She ran away at age 12, leaving her sister behind and ending up at an orphanage. Now she can't be touched without flinching.
