 For as long back as Yoona could remember, her mother recounted her birth as the result of a forbidden love too strong to be denied. When she was the little sister of two other airbenders, who were also born after the family had moved from Downtown Republic City to a tiny village at the outskirts. Yoona had always thought the story of her parents’ courtship was terribly romantic, the kind of story you would find in a library.  From the very beginning it had been said she was her “father’s daughter,” and she figured this had to be from their shared airbending talent. Yoona trained with their father Kuan, learning the ins and outs of traditional airbending, or at least the basics. For a man so full of life and capacity to love, his death three years ago came as a devastating blow. A firebender, one who believed in the cause of the hundred year war...took him away from them. Both Yoona and her mother found themselves at a loss, with holes in their hearts and tears that came fast and freely. Yoona dealt with her grief with what she knew spending as much time airbending as she could. It could not bring back her father, but it was all that she felt kept him close to her heart They moved back to Republic City. Perhaps the memories of Kuan were too much for mother or perhaps there was simply more opportunity in the big city. Eventually Yoona found a job as a waitress, using her airbending skills to serve drinks in a tiny restaurant in one of the poorer districts of the city. It was long hours and decent pay. Her brothers and sisters did the same-but her job pailed in comparssion to theirs. But, Yoona, being the baby sister, a sweet soul if there ever was one, did not question what their job titles were and continued to work endlessly. But the glistening glowing city of opportunity and riches was far more tarnished than anyone wanted to admit, and Yoona knew well the suffering and poor that laid within it. People disappeared, valuables were stolen, crimes were committed and as big as the metalbending police were, they weren’t big enough to catch the ones that fell through the cracks. Cracks Yoona wanted to badly to fill, but could not. Instead of fighting the crime like she yearned to,  she was sentenced away to live on Airbender island -- with her brother and sister of course, but without her mother. Her mother was forced to live in the underbelly of the city as Yoona was encouraged by many Airbending masters to further her airbender skills. But no one can teach Yoona what she needs to know-not through airbending alone. She is not as spiritually intuned as most air benders, and often finds herself spaced out during the simplest mediatation secessions. She believes her duty is to the people-people just like her. But is that really a 16 year old air nomads destiny?

Compassion and kindness springs to mind first when thinking of Yoona. While she seems innocent, it would be unwise to write her off as naïve. She can pick up on emotional nuance, and has a talent for putting people at ease, No one would ever call her witty, as she favors awful puns most often, and telling jokes that only make sense to her. Most often her jokes cause confused polite laughter or blank stares, which she quickly tries to recover from with out of place facts and information. 

                   On most days Yoona wardrobe is plain and unremarkable, well, at least to airbender. She often sports a simple yellow tube top concealed by a skirt which hugs tightly around her ant waist and has a single strap drapped over her right shoulder. She wears golden arm bracletts, which goes nicely with the yellow, orange, and maroon ascents. 

                 Yoona's character would coaside nicely with two other airbenders, who would willing to be her brother and sister. Another relationship plot I would suggest is a firebender who has some kind of connection to the man who murdered her father along with a probending team who would like a airbender on their side. Yoona also has a thirst to rid the city of it's notorious criminals, so any police officers willing to secretly steal her away from airbender island nightly...? and of course, she needs a master since she is a novice.
