Emma is a workaholic. Okay, so she's still in college but she loves to study. She would rather pore over books all day long and consult her professors non-stop than partying, like what any girl her age would do. It's not that Emma doesn't have a social life; she just doesn't believe that there is a need to. Any time not studying is time wasted, in her opinion. Hence, worrying that her daughter is delving deeper and deeper into the abyss of formulas and theories, Emma's mother forced her to have fun. This is where the head gear comes in.

Proud of being morally grounded in values, technology is one of the things that Emma isn't fond of amongst many others. Sure, the Internet is a glorious place but that was it. However, filial piety and respect for her mum prevented her from going against her mum's wishes and so Emma slips on the head gear and immerses herself in the world of Fiore for an hour everyday. She is stubborn and quite narrow-minded, preferring to stick to traditions rather than taking risks.
