Tao was born to the family of the Vampire Slayers. His father was the coach of the kids who were trained to be Slayers. His father never showed any mercy, even for the kids. Tao heard many rumors, that his mother never wanted to have a child, or even to marry, and his father was only fulfilling his carnal desire.

Tao didn't want to believe it, so he asked, "Mother, do you love me?" But his mother turned away in disgust. Tao heard her mumbled, 'abhorrent child.' Little Tao then turned to his father, "Father..." But before he could finish his words, his father hit him with a cane. He demanded to be called 'Captain' and for Tao never to use the word father ever again. Ever since that day, Tao threw away all his feelings. Love, mercy, family, God, he ripped them away from his life. But he does have an obnoxious personality. He had a lot of fun slaying and dye the ground red.

A piece of background story :
Little Tao was sitting at the corner of the practice ground. The other children were taking a break from the hell-like training. They were chattering with each other. Laughing, joking, eating lunch together, just like any normal kids did. But little Tao did not have any friends to play with. Tao heard them whispers. “He’s the captain’s son.” “But the captain did not intend to have a child.” “Nor did the mother.” “Why did she let him born?” Tao pressed his small hands to his ears. He did not need them to tell him that his parents did not want him. Tao walked to the canteen. The old lady gave him his portion of unappetizing lunch. The other adults looked at him in pity. “Poor, poor, child,” they whispered. Tao did not want their pity. He left his food untouched, and out to the woods he went. He could no longer endure the severe punishment that made his small hands bled. He did not want to see his parents looked at him in disgust.
Soon, he realized he is lost. He stood in silence. All is quiet. Then he heard something’s moving. Though his heart raced ever so quickly, though he was trembling, he tried to concentrate. Then, he knew where it was coming from. He dodged it accurately. A vampire was about to take his head off, if only his dodge was fail. At that moment, Tao found out that he did not want to die. Tears came flowing down without him knowing. He drew his sword. He tried to remember all the technics he learned. After what seems to be ages, he knew he won. The battle almost ended. The vampire was too wounded, too weak to move. All he needed to do was to stab its heart with the stake he brought. But curiosity struck him. He poured some drops of holy water to the vampire. It screamed with a high-pitched voice, just by the scream you could tell how painful it is. But Tao smirked. He poured it again on some other parts of the vampire. As the body evaporated, the vampire screamed, begged for the torture to stop. But Tao giggled. Clouds moved away, revealing the afternoon sun, and the vampire slowly burned. Tao enjoyed the view. And from that moment, he decided he will be the strongest of all, so that all the vampires will suffer under his hands.
