Always eager to try what her peers were too cowardly to do, Taeyeon had always found certain strength within her - not a lack of fear, but the will to face it and never let it hold her back.
Though everyone has their insecurities and uncertainties, she is both confident and self-aware - she knows that she's capable of many things and that she's "cute", but she'll never overestimate herself, despite her unwillingness to back down in arguments. She rarely starts one without being certain that her opinion is the right one (she has a sense of justice stronger than most), or that her statements are factual. She's headstrong and occasionally impulsive, but often stubborn as a mule. That combined with her opinionated nature often makes for a bad first impression - from a distance, anyway.
Even though she's all about honesty and may come off as rude and arrogant due to it, she doesn't consider herself to be too blunt and introduces herself with only the sweetest of smiles and a polite but charming greeting.
Once you get to know her, you'll find she's actually a gigantic dork with an even bigger heart (and very much in denial about it).

Growing up in what she considered a 'miserable small town with nothing to do', Taeyeon had yearned for the exciting buzz of the big city more than anything - there was more to do, more to be experienced, more to see, more people - but now it seems there's something a lot more interesting than crowded streets in store for her..
