Background
Minhyuk, despite being a North Korean, loves peace. He never wanted any war and conflict between countries - at least, with his country. No matter how much his parents tried to fill his heart with hate towards the South, he always rejects those feelings. Even the teachers at his school, that managed to convince his classmates about the outside world, gave up on him. He grew up without hating the South - and recently, the United States. "They can't be that bad, can they?" he had always ask himself every time someone talks bad about those two allies in front of him.
Right on his 23rd birthday, he overheard a conversation between his parents. They work for the government, making weapons, escpecially bombs. It was never a problem for him before actually; he believed that it was for good purposes. And at that night, he felt betrayed by his own thoughts. The nuclear bomb his parents have been working on for years was meant for the United States. Even worse, he clearly heard that their so-called ally, China, planned to launch another one to the South's famous island, Jeju Island. He wasn't stupid: he knew that most of the United States' main posts were located there. So, he quickly digged the trash cans around the neighbourhood for empty bottles and scribbled the same note: "If you're in Jeju Island, please flee from the island right now. There's danger ahead. Disguise as your enemies for now." And let the bottles drift away to the sea. He hoped - no, he hopes that there's someone out there, helping him to save those innocent people.
A few days after the bombs have been launched, the North Korean government received news that there are refugees suspected to be from the South in a huge empty island. Minhyuk was half-relieved and half-panicked. He was happy to hear that his messages were magically sent, but he feared for the safety of those refugees, now that the government has found them. His father sent the young man to replace him in the expedition, with the reason of "I am too old to kill," which is stupid for Minhyuk. So, like it or not, he was forced to go with the North soldiers. Who knew that betrayal could be that hard?
Personality
As mentioned previously, Minhyuk loves peace. He would do anything to restore peace between the four countries, even if that means sacrificing himself. He is a soft guy - probably too soft, allowing people to take advantage of him or take him for granted. Try to feel his heart with hatred, and he'll only watch you fail. He does not like to kill people, unless you give him a good reason to do so, which rarely happens. But don't let that blind you; he is a natural when it comes to guns, and he is forced to carry a rifle around by the North. However, he is bad at combats, and his reflexes are quite poor, making him unable to dodge most attacks.
