★ Hongbin could remember the day as if it was just yesterday. His world came crashing down to find out that his younger sister commited suicide in the asylum. "You're sister is dead," was what the nurses at the asylum told him. No, it couldn't be. The asylum was suppose to keep her sane and safe, away from the malevolent society outside the dark grey walls. He found out too late that the asylum did not keep her sane, and, instead, messed with her head even more. His younger sister clung to him ever since she was born. To her, Hongbin was her knight in shining armor and the one who would always be by her side no matter what. Hongbin complied to her fantasy. He did everything for her despite the fact that she was different from everyone else. Dare he say it, his younger sister had a dependent personality disorder in which she refused to live without him. For Hongbin, she was never an inconvenience simply because he loved her too much. She was only thirteen, Hongbin being only sixteen, when she was sent to the asylum and away from him. Exactly one year later, the nurses showed him the video footage of her dorm in which she committed suicide in. Her last words were, "We will be able to be together on the other side, right big brother?"
After graduating high school and entering college, Hongbin chose to major in psychology. Excelling in his studies, as that was the only thing he was able to drown himself in, Hongbin graduated with a professional job as a therapist. He returned to the asylum after five years and was determined to hopefully make a difference in the patients' lives and to guide them in a better path, in place of his sister whom he was not able to.
