Description
pROTECTOR OF THE CIRCUS
Background: Bestowed with a supernatural gift that others would consider a curse upon birth, Yoona never lived a normal life, never given the chance to do so. Visions came in short bursts, mere possibilities, as if she was being given options to life and she didn't like it -- didn't like being given options to life. Life was supposed to be a one way road in which everyone was given a road to follow, but Yoona had the 'gift' of altering that road, branching off of it for better or for worse. Yoona let them happen, in fear of making things worse.
However, there's only so much one could handle, being given the chance to do something -- make it better -- but not doing anything. Yoona's lifeline consisted of one person: her best friend. She had consistently put up with her, nodding in sympathy and rubbing small circles into her back whenever she need them. It happened when Yoona saw flashes of a hanging noose, a beeping monitor, and a picture frame of her best friend. Because who in the damn world knew that while Yoona was suffering, so was her best friend? With not even the slightest knowledge of controlling her event-altering powers, Yoona attempted to prevent her friend from trying to commit suicide. This was when harsh reality hit; Yoona had a curse, not a gift. To be able to do something, yet to also be able to ruin people's lives with one wrong move.
Soon after the event, which had changed Yoona drastically, causing her to distance herself from everything and everyone she knew and loved, she was tracked down by someone who would soon be her mentor. She taught Yoona how to use her powers for the better, showing her the value of her gift, which was not as Yoona had thought it was -- a curse. When the said mentor had offered to take Yoona in, she was whole-heartedly given away and Yoona left with hope in her heart that maybe, just maybe she'd be able to change the world with her gift.
