Introduction

The townhouse near the beach belongs to the Do family. The Do family is a family of entrepreneurs; Mr. Do being a successful businessman out in the city, and Mrs. Do having recently began her own quaint little coffee house in town. Their son, Kyungsoo, is expected by everyone who knows him to follow in his parents' footsteps. Charismatic and intelligent Kyungsoo appeared to be fearless to everyone he met. Nevertheless, there was only so much a 17 year-old could bear.

Kyungsoo called himself an actor. Not because he liked acting or wanted to pursue it, but rather because he could so easily deceive anyone with a flash of his heart shaped smile. In reality, Kyungsoo didn't want to be like his parents. His workaholic father devoted his life to his job, and his lonely mother cared more about her business than her son. Kyungsoo didn't want any of it. All he ever wanted to do in his life was surf, not waste his life away behind glass doors. He wanted to paint his life with the colors of the sun and the sea, not become an emotionless professional.

Obviously, his parents didn't approve in the slightest. When Kyungsoo had come out to his parents once before you couldn't even imagine their reactions. After that incident nothing was the same in his home. Kyungsoo blamed himself for chasing his parents out of their home and into their jobs. His parents were all about appearances, so even though they didn't throw Kyungsoo out of their home ow disowned him, they instead verbally abused the younger boy into becoming their perfect little puppet. Their perfect little angelic, straight A, polite puppet. That's why Kyungsoo called himself an actor, because he had a role to play, a role to play for the rest of his life.

There was one good thing that came out of disgusting his parents enough to make them ignore him, and that was the fact that as long as Kyungsoo followed their guidelines, his parents didn't care what he did. Kyungsoo used this new found freedom to immerse himself in his surfing. While keeping up with his parents' expectations, Kyungsoo had built his own surfboard by the age of 15, and he had taught himself how to surf in just a couple of weeks. He was never more thankful that he lived so close to the sea. It was the only thing his parents did that he thought was right.

Kyungsoo's one-man play was coming to an end though. Now at 17, Kyungsoo only had one year left before his parents kicked him out. They had payed for his high school education but they outright refused to pay a cent for the remainder of his days. Kyungsoo didn't mind so much nevertheless, because he was at least happy he didn't have to continue his good boy charade. The idea of leaving the quiet town and never returning scared him to no end though, and more often than not he found himself curled up in the beach, bawling his eyes out from anxiety and sadness because even though he was tired of his parents, they were the only ones he had, and the thought of leaving their home as an outsider and never seeing them again simply shattered his heart.

Kyungsoo was now living his summer vacation leisurely. He had graduated top of his class and he had pleased his parents enough for the remainder of his time with them. Coming next January he would be leaving, on the day of his birthday, and never looking back. He didn't know what he would do or where he would go, and decided he'd figured it out when the time comes. He was saving up money with a job he had gotten in a beach bar (he lied about his age, go figure), and was planning to use it on a one-way ticket to Hawaii for now. Kyungsoo wasn't sure about his plans though.

Storylines

« I AIN'T NO HOLLABACK GIRL: Open » You're interested in the world of the adults; the same world Kyungsoo has been forced to partake in earlier than anticipated. He doesn't know how you did it but you managed to get yourself drunk some way or another, and it just so happens that it was while Kyungsoo was working his shift at the bar. Kyungsoo notices and can tell when someone has a fake ID so he approaches you to properly send you home. Your parents must be worried afterall. You however, don't feel like it and instead try your drunkin' best to seduce Kyungsoo. Can you be any more embarrassing?

« MERMAIDMAN & BARNACLEBOY: Jongin » You and Kyungsoo are close. It's a friendship based on waves and lighthearted humor. You both surf, whether you're good or not, and Kyungsoo appreciates the company. You get close wiith the smell of the sea and the squaks of the seagulls. There's a lot of playful banter going on around you both but you guys don't care. Both of you are just looking for some way to relieve stress and forget your troubles, and you realize that together you do it best.

« LIFEGUARD: Open » Not many people know of Kyungsoo's bad habit of surfing dangerous waters alone. He likes to think of himself as a daredevil to some extent, because he thrills off the adrenaline of not knowing whether he's ever gonna surface the water ever again. It was a close call one day with you. Kyungsoo was surfing the waters he knows best by his own when the currents became restless. You both didn't know about the storm that was taking part miles away in the ocean, but you did notice how the ocean suddenly roared with fury. You were walking by or something when you caught Kyungsoo struggling in the water. The currents seemed to push him even farther to sea and he had somehow gotten himself entangled in the surfboard leash and couldn't swim properly. You bravely swim towards him, without so much of a thought, and save Kyungsoo from meeting his salty death.

« MERMAID: OPEN » You're a dreamer. You see things the way others don't, and you believe that magical creatures could exist. That thought got you into a bit of a misunderstanding, as you assumed Kyungsoo was a mermaid when you saw him skinny dipping in the ocean. Poor Kyungsoo didn't know what to expect when he was suddenly fussed over while in the . He didn't know how you got to your conclusion but he was just happy you didn't call the police for indecent exposure.

« CLOSE FRIEND: open » You've known Kyungsoo for a good couple of years now. You often come over to his house to play videogames, knowing full well about his situation with his parents. You understand and comfort Kyungsoo often, lending a helping hand and at times a silent ear of comfort. Kyungsoo appreciates your presence and doesn't hesitate to let you know how thankful he is for you. Sometimes you're the only beacon of light that pushes him to keep on living.

« FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS: open » You saw him often, admiring his features. Kyungsoo has always been attractive, and in this small town, there's not many people who are gay (openly or in the closet). You pursued Kyungsoo for some time, until he finally put out. He gave you his ity and his first ual experiences, and he considers you important in his life. However, the feelings between you two are strictly platonic, because neither of you have ever felt anything more for each other than pure attraction and lust. The most memorable part of it all for Kyungsoo nevertheless, is when you both cuddle afterwards and talk, because that's when he finds the intimacy he needs that can't provide.

« CHILDHOOD FRIEND: Luhan » Kyungsoo grew up with you. Both of your parents are close and you both have grown up like brothers. You're both only children, and because of mutual longing for a sibling, you and Kyungsoo have grown close. When Kyungsoo came out to his parents at 14, you grew apart a bit because Kyungsoo was going through a hard time, and him and his parents never visited your home anymore. Now at 17, you and Kyungsoo are trying to reconnect. Since you're younger, you just recently received the necessary freedom to go and visit the older boy when you please. You found out about Kyungsoo's uality and you didn't care; because of this Kyungsoo is thankful towards you. He is thankful because at least one person in his family loves him for who he is. Yes, Kyungsoo considers you real family.

« CRUSHCRUSHCRUSH: Minseok » The only good thing Kyungsoo remembers about high school was the fact that he could see you whenever he wished. You were the reason that Kyungsoo questioned his uality, and he never felt regret over the fact that you were his first love. Although you both aren't that close and Kyungsoo knows you best from afar, he has these brooding feelings in his heart that point arrows towards you, and Kyungsoo knows he has a one-sided crush. You don't see Kyungsoo that way at all, and you never will for whatever reason. Nevertheless, Kyungsoo can't seem to make these feelings stop.

« CO-WORKER: Yixing » You're the only salvation Kyungsoo has at work so he doesn't go insane. You're his friend and you both mutually protect each other from the s at the bar. You both bond over the way you lied about your age and you both have very similar personalities and you just hit it off right away. To Kyungsoo, you're like a break away from his difficult life. He liked how he can talk to you because you're a great listener.
