background story
Zitao was in a sense.. the target in everyone's eyes. He was a weak child, everyone's eyecandy since he was oh so adorable sweet and kind, a lanky and skinny teenager with piercing eyes. He was very optimistic, he was a wild child and he was a great student in the early ages. But he was weak, and it seemed like he only depended on his wealthy parents who spoiled him rotten. So growing up he was everyone's main target. Lower than 'nerds', lower than the lowest even when he was strong enough to rise to the top. He lived a life with a red arrow on his back screaming 'torture me', yet he continued to smile and finish school for all he had left, nor wanting to disappoint his parents. He made one friend during that time, he had Zitao's back and they were inseparable, until one day. Third year of high school things started to look up. Tao was making a few friends here and there, he was intelligent and won a lot of good achievement awards, but no matter what there was that big sign taped on his back. It was a night walking home that the two were attacked. School bullies, the jocks, finally wanted to out their hands and to use, so they made a grab at them, to humiliate them in the middle of the night and strip away their happiness. Tao's friend was , but Tao managed to get away, not before watching his friend's betrayed and not so subtly disappointed look as Tao ran as fast as he could, listening to the screams behind him.
That was years ago. But it didn't change. Years after Zitao locked himself inside his house, demanding they'd let him stay in his room without explanation. He met the cruel, true world, and it hit him right in the face. He became scared of people, mostly men, and his nightmare was consistently the same.. the night he and his best friend were attacked. No other news came out besides the fact that his friend had been and left on the side to be found, luckily alive, but dead on the inside. Tao worried held come and find him, and so his days in China didn't last long before he moved away, hoping to abandon his fears behind. Although hesitant about going into groups or even small packs of people, Zitao took a job as a side baker in a bakery, working in the back mostly as he tried to regain the power to get close to people. However, it didn't seem to help sometimes, flinching away when someone was only a few feet away, screaming and even crying when someone surprised him or came up behind him. He pushed others away when he really needed people, and he locked himself away, saving his everything for a day when he could finally be normal again, when he didn't have the nightmares, when he stopped being guilty.

Zitao is the epitome of what he looks like. He's quiet, reserved, meek, mild, shy, cold, hot tempered, stubborn, but down to earth and very sweet deep down where he's locked everything away. Before he was friendly, smart, affectionate head filled with love, and he held his only friend dearly to him, no one understood that. People thought he was weak, so he pretended to be, just so he wouldn't have a reason to fight. Upon being attacked and losing his friend, violated, Tao grew distant from people. He flinches away when people are close, he cries and he screams when someone surprises or shocks him, even by the slightest touch on the shoulder, and he avoids people completely, especially when they seem to want to be near him. Zitao has given up on trusting people. Not that he doesn't, but he's afraid.. he's scarred, emotionally scarred. He's just afraid, and he doesn't want to try.

He finds it hard to trust people, but he's hopelessly easy to follow and be attached to someone, despite what he actually wants. He's known to call bullwhip, unable to think straight or fend for himself. But he's terribly strong, however, when people don't expect it. He's cunning and brave and he'll do anything for loved ones, but he also fears being broken, and that's why he pushes others away. No one's been able to get close.
