BIOGRAPHY
Hers is a story that’s probably been the plot of several teenage movies. Middle class neighborhood, responsible parents, decent academics, kind friends—every single one of those things made life so hopelessly boring. While a luxury for many, Reiko despised her peaceful upbringing. She gravitated towards danger and excitement; anything that took her out of her mundane existence was welcome.
The answer to her yearning came in the form of seventeen-year-old transfer student, Maeda Takumi. He was older, unpredictable, and seemed to do as he pleased. His life was a complete 180 from hers and Reiko loved it. Getting together with him was like a dream come true. To the rest of her family, it was a living nightmare.
When Reiko walked out at fifteen, she chose to leave everything and everyone behind. For two years, “, drugs, and alcohol” became her mantra—and Takumi was her world. Life was unstable, but Reiko never felt more alive. It was hard to get bored when you’re dating a junior member of a drug trafficking ring. Takumi was trying to move up in the underworld and Reiko was along for the ride. He began convincing her to help him during his operations; to which she reluctantly agreed. One run became two, and before she knew it, Reiko stopped keeping track.
Come time for Takumi’s chance to get closer to the inner circle, she was more than happy to help. It was going to be like any other time. He’d keep watch, play the distraction. All she had to do was waltz right through. No one would suspect a skinny seventeen-year-old girl of possessing several pounds of heroin. Not unless they were tipped off. Through a of good fortune, Reiko managed to avoid arrest by a hair. There had been another girl, who fit her physical description, in the area at the wrong place, wrong time. Informed authorities took the incorrect suspect, but Reiko knew just who their intended target was. Takumi certainly did need her help; except less as a partner and more like a scapegoat. The bag Reiko had been carrying was filled with nothing but decoys.
The event gave Reiko a much needed reality check, allowing her to see past her obsession and recognize Takumi’s true nature. For the second time in her life, she left everything behind to start over; this time, to repair the damage she had done to her friends and family. It began with Reiko turning herself in and providing information to the authorities for not only a lighter sentence, but also protection. With the help of a good attorney, she was allowed to continue her schooling in a special program designed for troubled youth, until she was of age to serve time. While her parents welcomed her with open arms, Reiko knew that her old friends, including her sister, had rightfully turned their backs on her.
Thus began Reiko’s attempt to right the wrongs that her fifteen-year-old self had committed. She only had a year before she had to carry out her sentence as a legal adult. Unfortunately for her, she wouldn’t have the time. Instead of being transported to a detention facility upon her ‘graduation’, Reiko found herself on an island, forced to play a twisted game. To make matters worse, she’s learned that her younger sister is also an unwilling competitor. With nothing else to live for, her sole purpose is to survive long enough to keep the girl alive, whether she likes Reiko or not.

PERSONALITY
She’s always been a closet thrill-seeker, constantly yearning for novelty, but Reiko has never had the courage to pursue it. Her tendency to second guess herself before taking action often prevents her from getting what she wants. Reiko seems to spend the majority of her time occupied with her private thoughts, so most people feel that they cannot get close. She likes to think that no one could ever fool her, which makes her seem a little full of herself. A coward at best.
Since her time with Takumi, she’s learned to open up, take risks—a lot of them. She’s willing to take on unnecessary challenges to disprove signs of weakness. Armed with a devil may care attitude, Reiko’s become much more callous towards others and less concerned about her personal safety. Living in and for the moment became her philosophy. Selfish at worst.
Her current self retains its dry sense of humor and sharp tongue, but has lost its former flare. Guilt has eaten away her sense of adventure. She comes across as someone who’s perpetually exhausted—lazy almost. The heavy burden of remorse has made Reiko extremely self-critical. She’s back to hiding in her mind, but this time, it’s more out of apathy than fear. She only has one thing left to lose, and it certainly isn’t her life. Running on empty.
PLOTS
Bridge ( 1/1 | Seka Koizumi | taken )
She’s interested in you—but it’s really only because you’re in the same class as her sister. You don’t quite know how it started, but you’ve become the middle man for the estranged siblings. The last thing you wanted was to be dragged into someone else’s family drama, but Reiko was persistent. You let her know how her sister is doing; give the girl gifts she wouldn’t otherwise accept from Reiko—the list goes on. Now that you’re all on an island trying to kill your classmates, she needs you more than ever.
Desert ( 0/1 | M/F | must be 18 )
It’s a classic scenario: girl has best friend, girl gets boyfriend, and best friend gets tossed aside. You never quite forgave her for that. Things will never, ever be the same between you two again; you’re determined to keep it that way. She might be apologetic, desperately try to restore your friendship even, but deep down you know your old friend has already died. Only now on Battle Royale, that can very much be a reality.
Restart ( 1/1 | Saito Ryu | taken )
You don’t know her. You never have, and she’s glad for it. She’s sick of people whispering about her, about the person she “used to be.” The girl you see now is what you get; you don’t care—and that’s what makes your friendship matter so much to her. She says she’s got your back and somehow you can tell she means it. For what it’s worth, you’ll take it.
Exchange ( 0/1 | M/F | must have GPS tracker )
You tell her you can help her look for her sister. It’s a big island and she can use all the help she can get. When you show up with a GPS tracker, she’s all but convinced. The catch? She needs to give you her weapon. With no way of distinguishing your truths from your lies, she could very well be signing over her life to you.
