Background story:

No other mother in the human world had ever been so grateful for conceiving a very beautiful girl with two perfect legs than Sooyoung’s mother. And also, there was no other mother in the human world had been disgusted by her own daughter than Sooyoung’s mother.

Sooyoung was brought into life with two perfect legs by a human mother who didn’t know married a mermaid. On her 365th day, her perfect legs were replaced by a turquoise tail which put her mother into great disgust upon looking at her half human half fish daughter, and left.

Sooyoung and her father returned to her rightful world. Growing up was not easy for Sooyoung, she would often get teased for not having a mother, and a greatly hated father who was dethroned by the king— his father— after going up to the human world.

Despite the judgemental minds around her, Sooyoung grew to be a happy and bright girl in her father’s arms. 

On her 7th birthday, her father was killed by the king— and her world collapsed. Living on her own at a young age was the biggest suffering she had to go through. She would often get mocked at for having a disgraceful father who failed the kingdom, and so Sooyoung decided to leave the kingdom and live on a far away place to where she met her adoptive parents. 

The bright girl was replaced by a girl who has a heart filled with darkness, suffering and revenge. She hated the royalties, and everyone around her, and most of all the mother she never had.

 

The suffering from her childhood is still clear from the deepest part of her memory, Sooyoung decided to venture in to the human world to look for her mother and not because she wanted to be with her but to take her revenge. She went through many obstacles, met different personalities, and you are one of them— but what is your role in Sooyoung’s life?

Enemy; Chorong

Sooyoung has a good passion of hatred towards you because you grew up in a royal family. And you didn’t like her personality either. Every time you’d meet, there would be tension in the waters. One fine day, you and Sooyoung were ‘fighting’ on a nearby reef and a calamity brought by humans happened which nearly brought Sooyoung to vanish completely but thanks to you, she was still able to see more of life. And slowly— really, slowly she began to accept you and the hatred slowly faded…..and becomes good friend. (drama)

 

Sister; Choa

You and Sooyoung were adopted into a good family. Despite the fact that you are not blood related, both of you cherish each other more than anything and because you are orphans you found a ‘family’ in each other. (fluff)

 

Best friend; [Mermaid; 1/1]

You were the only who was there for Sooyoung during her harsh days when her father died, defending her from the other mermaids even though you were just a tiny child as if you were a big girl. You and her have the same story to tell— the same experience, somehow, and through time you became good friends. However, one day upon getting your pearl necklace for legs you left Sooyoung to go into the world of humans and didn’t come back for 3 months. Feeling betrayed, Sooyung grew to hate you. And when you came back, you try to patch things up with her. (angst)

Sooyoung was brought into life by a human, therefore she was born with perfect legs. But on her first birthday her tails grew and replaced her legs and this became permanent. Her human mother abandoned her mermaid father the moment she found out that she married a sea creature, so Sooyoung had to return to her rightful world. You and Sooyoung have the same mother, but you both don't know it yet. You
