JONGHYUN WAS LEFT BEHIND BY HIS PARENTS AT THE AGE OF 10. HIS PARENTS HAD DIED IN A TERRIBLE CAR ACCIDENT. SO, HE WAS SENT TO LIVE WITH HIS UNCLE AND AUNT WHO HAD CARED FOR HIM LIKE HE WAS THEIR OWN SON. however, despite all that love his uncle and aunt had given him, he was bullied a lot in school because he had no parents and apparently had to live with his relatives. hence his personality hit a big change by the age of 12 ever since his own friends had him and he found out that they were the reason he was bullied all this time, so he started to be rather loud, annoying, michievous and in short he became a jerk that didn't care what the other would think about him. though in reality he would still wonder if what he had said was too much and was only doing that to protect himself  from getting bullied but instead he became the bully. however, that was only around people that he wasn't close with.

once you get to know him he's quite fun but since his loud attitude has stuck with him until then, he's still a jerk either way. though he has a lot of respect for anyone older than him, such as his aunt and uncle who he still lives with until today.
