Background
Born to affluent engineers of the Sibyl System, Jooyeon enjoyed a sheltered, structured childhood, supplemented by additional school courses upon the INSistEnce of her parents. She managed her time among social, filial and educational responsibilities, raised to become someone of equal standing as her parents – someone to uphold their legacy and continue their family’s contributions to the scientific community. As a result, her interactions were limited to her parent’s acquaintances and Jooyeon was distanced from classmates her age. At age 20, she passed the exams with high scores for employment in the entertainment industry and other public sectors, excluding her from the pursuit of the occupations her parents desired. However, due to the selectivity of such sectors, she joined the entertainment industry as a Sibyl-certified actress and model, venerated for her emotional versatility and an appearance of vulnerability.
Underprepared to shoulder such burdens, Jooyeon met success at the expense of her emotional stability, succumbing to the negative influences of the industry. Although her crime coefficient did not rise, her hue darkened to an irreparable degree and she began enrolling in therapy sessions – first once a week, then twice, until she was a regular patient at the psychologist. On the road to recovery, a publicized incident signified her change from citizen to latent criminal. She currently holds an inconspicuous lab job at National Safety Bureau, concealing herself from the public eye and maintaining a modest but earnest image to prevent recognition. She endures the stigmatization of her status and still attends therapy sessions, becoming accustomed to her life as a latent criminal.
Personality
A personality unbecoming of a latent criminal, Jooyeon has a patient, calm and composed temperament, inclined to assist others despite legal limitations on her interactions and mannerisms. Although once afraid of latent criminals and the exaggerated generalization of their character, she has learned better and upholds a tolerant and respectful attitude, empathetic to the conditions of others, particularly to those that share her misfortune. She possesses a strong sense of righteousness, able to formulate her own opinions, yet lacks the courage and confidence to act upon her opinions, causing her to acquiesce to demands that she does not agree with.
Her inability to recover from the incidence manifests in her dependence upon the opinions of others, sensitive to criticisms of her, her actions or her appearance. Ironically, in her becoming a latent criminal, she has an increased susceptibility to detrimental influences, further perpetuating her self-induced exclusion from society.
