Choa had always wanted to be a singer since young but her family disapproved of it, thinking that singing and dancing on stage was completely ridiculous. They expected Choa to focus on her studies and get an intellectual job so she could raise and support her own family in the future. Although she tried her best to make her parents happy by studying hard and getting good grades in school, she also tried to squeeze in time to hone her singing skills without the knowledge and consent of her parents. She would hold mini performances for her supportive friends, and practise at home alone whenever her parents were out. One day, Royal Entertainment held auditions in her hometown and she knew she could not pass up such an opportunity, so she signed up and got in as a trainee. After months of training and finally debuting, her parents changed their views on her job as an idol, seeing how she loved her job and her life so much.

Choa has a very warm personality; she's friendly and easy-going, and she always puts her friends and family before herself. She's humble and respectful to her seniors, thanks to her parents' strict upbringing, and a perfectionist in everything she does. She does, however, get stressed out quite easily and when she does, she gets irritable and moody, sometimes even snappy.
