Happy Yixing Is Happy
Zhang Yixing is one of the many students who have transferred from another country to come study and live in Korea for the rest of their schooling lives. He's a normal kid, with normal, married parents who live in China, and his homestay parents who he is staying here with. He's happy, and he tries as hard as he can in school. He likes to make friends, and is quiet, gentle and smiley. He'll talk to you if you talk to him first, or in some rare cases, he'll start the conversation by asking a question about you, because he finds that's the best way to make friends - To be curious, and to listen to them talk. The reason he doesn't like to start conversations, though, is because he's deaf. He's been deaf since he was young, but he's not mute. He can speak perfectly fine, since he's been taking speech therapy since he began loosing his hearing at the age of 6, but even though his speech is fine, he still uses a lot fo hand gestures, and a lot of sign language even while he's talking, because it makes him feel a bit more comfortable if he ever gets nervous talking. Yixing is in year 11, and is sad he's only got two more years of high school left, because so far they've been the best years of his life. He's definately going to miss high school, and when it all ends, he's going to re-live the happy and embarassing memories with his friends always in his mind. He doesn't know what university he's going to be going to yet, or even what he's going to do in university. He's actually thinking of going to a college, instead, mostly because there's a college close to this school and so he won't have to go any further for commuting back and forth to college when high school ends. Yixing has a nickname, and goes by the name of Lay when with his mates back in China, but no one here in Korea really calls him that. His Korean is still a bit shaky, and his pronunciation is off at some points, but other than that communicating with this lovable snuggly creature is easy, and fun! He speaks three languages - Chinese (Fluently), Korean (Semi-Fluently) and English (Still Learning). So come talk to him, pleaseu ~
