Everyone has their own sob story, their own rough beginnings, Miyavi is no exception to that and he won't ever claim to be. He knows exactly how hard it was to wake up one day and realize he wasn't normal. No matter how hard he tried to be he couldn't force it to go away. It was like a disease that was slowly killing him and it ruined his life. If you ask him he won't lie. His power ruined his life, and from those ruines he had to try to rebuild a broken man. He lost his wife and his two daughters after leaving his baby girl in a coma for nearly a month. He'll be the first to tell you that some fights just aren't worth pain they cause, but that there are some fights that are worth your dying breath. He knows it , he knows you're hurting, he knows, but he also knows you're stronger than you realize you are. Every breath you take is a testament to your strength. He won't tolerate anyone selling themselves short, and he won't induldge in pity parties. You stand up, brush yourself off, flip life the finger, and you keep walking. And yes, you trip and fall on your face two steps later and you repeat the whole ing process until you get exactly where you're trying to go.
As the drama teacher Miyavi likes to create a space where everyone can feel accepted not only for who they are, but for who they are trying to become. He likes for his students to express their inner selves, fall into the character of a person they think they want to be. He gives them a chance, within the period of his class, to slip into the safety of a mask. To express their true feelings behind that mask in the guise of a character. He wants his students to explore and exprses the different aspects of their personalities and to learn to step into the shoes of those around them. To see the world in many points of view. He encourages creative writing as much as the actual acting in his class. He doesn't use books or assign readings. Everything he does comes from himself and his students because he believes it's in the reality of their lives that they will most deeply connect and learn.
You won't find a better counselor than Miyavi, because he won't care what power you have, or how sad your sob story is. He'll treat you like the person he sees you as, not the person you see in the mirror. He won't tolerate bull or excuses, and he will push you until you want to push him off the roof or turn him into a pile of ashes on the floor. He's very blunt, and very honest, he'll tell you exactly what he thinks of you and what he thinks you need to do to help yourself. And if you don't take his advice then he'll flat out tell you there's nothing else he an do for you. If you don't want to help yourself, he won't waste his time trying to help you. There are a lot of students in this school, many of them who are willing to take the steps necessary to find ther way in the world. If you aren't one of those people then don't knock on his door until you're ready to become one.
