"Welcome to the family, son." If you can call gangs a family, then Jaebum has known his since his adoption, fourteen years ago. Where were his real parents? He has no idea, and as much as he'd like to think that they were some pair of kind parents who had to give him up in some adventure to save the world or some , he had overheard the caretaker at the orphanage he'd been in briefly gossiping about how much of a his mother was and how his father had ed off and apparently died somewhere overseas. So so much for the fairytales, kids. With the time he spent in the orphanage, Jaebum learnt that reallyno one was friendly at all or nice, or caring or really just anything besides cruel and horrible pieces of dirt. That's when daddy JYP took him in. Sure, the guy is kinda creepy and doesn't know when he needs to stop with the really bad jokes, but he was more of a father figure to Jaebum than he'd ever had before in his entire life. So after the adoption files were sorted, Jaebum was handed off to the man, only to find out on the first day that the man was in fact the leader of one of the most powerful gangs in Korea, perhaps the most powerful, the Golden Dragons. Jaebum learned from an early age how to use what he had, his cute youthful face to cheat people out of their wallets and to guilt them into believing they'd tricked some innocent boy, when in fact they were right on point in the first place. Not that Jaebum minded, he needed to bring the green home otherwise he'd be out on the streets with the rest who had failed Big daddy. In return for his hard work, he got what he wanted and enjoyed it too who wouldn't? He's pretty much his dad's right hand man now, though his newest challenge is found somewhere a bit closer to home - university. Jaebum isn't dumb or anything, you can't be when you're a gangster, its just he doesn't have the time (or interest) to learn some ty little formulaes in abook and copy them to be told he's smart, to hell with that.
